My book's available to buy in the US! I knew I wanted this book to be available for sale outside of New Zealand and almost fell over when I found out that it would be @rizzolibooks publishihg it in the US and UK, they are a publisher I really admire and have long been associated with some of the most beautiful books in the world. Their NY store is considered to be one of the foremost independent booksellers in America, its flagship store recently relocated near to Madison Square Garden. On Monday I held a book signing and talk in the Rizzoli Bookstore and couldn't quite believe this kiwi chef who grew up on a farm in rural Waikato was launching his book here. We had a good turn out with some of the contributing chefs and chefs who had worked for me attending, also it was great to meet some NY based kiwis who had made the effort to come along and get a book signed. I landed back in Auckland early this morning and have 1 Rizzoli US version of the book toโšกGIVEAWAYโšก(swipe right to see it) . To enter, follow me, like โค๏ธ and tag a friend who you think would like this one-off US Rizzoli version to add to their cook book selection. I'll write a message in book as well. If you want the copy then get a mate to tag you ๐Ÿคฃ Ready steady go! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“š #therecipebook #worldsfinestchefs #essentialclassicrecipes #therecipebible #joshemett

All American Apple Pie In the week we have been in New York it feels as though the seasons flicked a switch and it officially moved into Autumn. Yesterday I caught up with Erin, the Brooklyn based kiwi behind a very successful baking blog (link in stories) and instagram @cloudykitchen. We thought it would be fun to bake something together and seeing as we are staying up the road from her in Williamsburg we decided to meet at the very popular Saturday morning Williamsburg Farmers Market in McCarren Park Greenmarket to see what jumped out at us and then head back to her place and get baking. Apples were front and centre of every stall in the market so the decision was made and what's more American than an old fashioned apple pie. Since arriving in the US Erin has embarked upon perfecting sweet fruit pies that are so popular over here. Head over to stories and check us out making the pie and Erin giving me some great tips. Erin certainly wasn't intimidated by a chef - she knows her stuff and you'll see the end result is an incredible pie. We made her great pie dough from scratch but will upload the pastry demo in my story tomorrow so you don't have story over-load. In NZ you may want to substitute the apple for fruits that are coming in to season. We used two types of apples that complemented each other to give the pie balance: one sweet, one tart/acidic. You will also notice Erin styled the photos beautifully. Sheโ€™s very keen to write a book but doesn't think she has enough time or space to embark on this quite yet. Who thinks this will inspire them to make a pie? What would be your favourite fruit pie filling? #applepie #farmersmarket #mccarrengreenmarket #autumnbaking #cloudykitchen

I met @sharibayer 12 years ago when I was living and working in New York. Earlier this year when I was listening to a Danny Meyer interview I recognized the interviewers voice instantly as Shari's. When I knew I was coming to NY to promote my latest book The recipe I reached out to Shari and she invited me to be on her podcast @allintheindustry. So here I am in Bushwick at the famous @robertaspizza recording an interview in @heritageradio 's ship container studio. For foodie podcast fanatics check out her @allindustry podcast it has 5 years of restaurant industry interviews all of which are interesting and insightful.

Loving being back in NYC, packed agenda, morning in the kitchen at @batardny with my mate @markusglocker getting ready for a media dinner I am hosting on Thursday. Headed uptown for a delicious Italian Seafood lunch @mareanyc by @chefbianco. Then back to Brooklyn on the ferry. If you've got mates in New York let them know I'm having a book signing event at the Rizzoli Bookstore near Madison Sqaure Park link in my stories. Other pictures of my day over in stories as well! ๐Ÿ—ฝ๐Ÿ—ฝ๐Ÿ—ฝ๐Ÿ—ฝ๐Ÿ—ฝ๐Ÿ—ฝ๐Ÿ—ฝ

Itโ€™s a Sunday Sundae! Who doesnโ€™t love a caramel sauce! Did you know caramel is really easy to make? All you need is sugar, cream and a sauce pan. Check out my stories to learn how to make it. Making a sundae for dessert when you have friends over or as a family treat is really simple and so bloody delicious. The key to a really good sundae is great ice cream. Lewis Road Creamery who have pimped up the NZ dairy market, have just released their new ice cream range and I got sent a pot of each... they are off the charts good, especially the Burnt Butter which Iโ€™ve used in this sundae. Surely with today being the beginning of daylight savings you should celebrate with a Sunday Sundae. Tag me in your photos if you [email protected]

AKL - NYC, Iโ€™ll be right back ๐Ÿ—ฝ๐Ÿš–๐ŸŽโ € โ € โ € Helen and I are headed to New York for the official US launch of my book The Recipe and of course I couldnโ€™t skip the obligatory lounge photo. While we are there we have two events, lots of meetings with media, a couple of podcasts, more meetings and plenty of restaurant reservations.โ € โ € โ € I plan to be better organised on this trip and capture daily content that Iโ€™ll post on my stories so keep an eye out. Lucky me, @samsungNZ have given me a brand new and rather shiny Galaxy Note10+. This is my first Samsung so I need to get up to speed fast. First impressions are that itโ€™s very intuitive and has loads of features for those of us who work on the move, around the clock and without a fixed office. Iโ€™ve also heard great things about the Samsung camera so Iโ€™m keen to start using it. The kids have already tried to hijack it to look at all the cool games (check out my stories!). Hands off!โ € โ € โ € I shared my NY recommendations a few months back (now detailed in my highlights) if you have places you recommend please share them in the comments below ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผโ € โ € โ € ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›ซโ € โ € #GalaxyNote10NZ #sponsored #NYbound #NYfoodie #Chefontour #therecipebook #worldsfinestchefs #essentialclassicrecipes #therecipebible #joshemett

The Italian food scene is hard to beat: Pasta, Pizza, Risotto but letโ€™s not forget this after dinner superstar: irresistible Tiramisu. It is one of my favorite desserts, the combination of rich velvety mascarpone cream, intense coffee, something boozy, all topped off with a bitter dark cocoa powder layer.โ € โ € I got inspired to make this no-baking-required dessert when @Nespresso sent me their latest Limited Edition coffee. This time they are relaunching the popular Italian coffee duo: Tribute to Milano and Tribute to Trieste. I particularly like the Trieste with its hints of brown caramel and nuts โ€“ itโ€™s great with some steamed milk for a mid-morning coffee. For the Tiramisu, the Milano is the perfect ingredient with its intense and fruity flavours. This dish deserves the luxury of a Nespresso coffee โ€“ trust me youโ€™ll taste the difference.โ € โ € Head over to stories ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿผ to see me making this classic, it is not that hard and can be made ahead of time. Iโ€™ll even cover off how to perfect the dipping to ensure the sponge fingers are moist but not watery.

Need a quick canapรฉ to serve when friends pop over? With lots of All Blacks World Cup game day gatherings this could be just the thing to serve your guests. โ € โ € These little one-bite offerings are ridiculously easy to make, look fancy and score well in the health department ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผโ € โ € They appeared in @nzhviva today for @mat@matisse_nz feature we did. We get so many compliments on our kitchen and the team @matisse_nz were able to turn my vision in to a reality. โ € โ € Head over to stories ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿผto see these treats being put together.
