((Scroll right for pics)) 4 years ago, i had the pleasure of working on this massive sculpture with my friend, Lilah. It took Lilah 3 months to build the 24' x 4' structure, using styrofoam, tape and paint. Then it took us another 2 months to tediously cover the entire surface of the sculpture with delicate pieces of multi-colored tissue paper, each piece hand cut and pasted. Although this was a frustrating journey I knew that we made excellent art partners, pushing each other to our creative and physical limits. I was always inspired by her dedication and unique way of interacting with the world. She revealed to me many layers and approaches to art and life. We collaborated on a few more art projects together over the years, and at one point we even lost our friendship as well. Time passed and in our separate lives we found we were both going through a period of chaos and necessary change...we sought each other out again out of a need to care for and support each other, and it didn't take long for us to realize that we were bonded on all levels and spend our lives together 🌅"The Well of Eternal Rose House" 4' x 2' x 24' styrofoam, tape, paint, tissue paper 2014 you can follow Lilah @lilahslagerrose
