One of us had a wedding dress on the line, the other two came 2nd and 3rd 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃‍♀️ • Congrats to these two ladies on their wins (and upcoming wedding), and a big thank you to the race organizers for letting me be a part of this event. • Happy to snag 3rd and run an outright PB of 4:34 ... also nice to come home with a few dolla’ bills! • #washingtondc #befiesty #navymile

A marathoner to a miler is like the tortoise to the hare 🐢🐇 ... one maxes out their speed. • Just 3 weeks out from the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon for him, and 1 week out from The Navy Mile in Washington, DC for me! • #stwm #thenavymile #teamnb

This year at the Exact Yorkville 5K, each athlete had the opportunity to choose a charity to support, and the top 3 male/female finishers got to present a cheque in their name! • The decision for me was easy, I chose Stella’s Place, a Toronto program that provides comprehensive mental health services to young adults. 💙 • #yorkvillerun #stellasplace #mentalhealth

Me: Do you think I could’ve beat her? Steve: Take a look at the finish pics of you and her ... Me: Oh, okay nvm. • Wasn’t pretty, but I was very excited to run a 16:09.5 road PB for 2nd place at the Exact Yorkville 5k! • First race in the new training build towards a hopeful 2020 indoor season. #teamnb #chasingnewpbs #yorkvillerun

September is back-to-school month, something I’ve always been excited about. Sporting new shoes with a fresh haircut and an oversized backpack always made me feel invincible... especially with two studs walking you to the bus. • Just 7 months ago, I found out that I was accepted to Teacher’s College, that same month on this very day, we lost our oldest brother, Dominic, to suicide. He was 3 months away from finishing his Architectural degree, with the most artistic talent and attention to detail this world could have ever seen. • September also happens to be suicide awareness month, something I never acknowledged until earlier this year. In Canada, it is the second leading cause of death, after accidents, in young adults. For those struggling (everyone at some point in their life), know that there is always a way, that you have a place on this earth, and a purpose in life. For those lucky enough to have their loved ones by their side, please remind them of this often. • I feel very fortunate to begin my final degree at Western in the Bachelor of Education program, specializing in Advanced Studies in the Psychology of Achievement, Inclusion, & Mental Health. Apart from my goal of turning every student into a 1500 - 5K runner, I hope to teach them the importance of mental, physical, and social health above all else, and help them navigate their own unique challenges as they move through life. • Here’s to many more first days of school to come, where I hope to make my students feel as invincible as I did. #health #education #awareness

Shifting it into full “deer” 🏃‍♀️👉🦌 #falltraining #huntingseason #mileagebuild Caution: Not recommended in heavily forested areas, as you may be confused for a real one.

When you’re being all cute n’ nice and ask coach for a few more days of downtime, and he’s like “yah okay fine”. 😁 #okaythanks #youdabest #immasitrightherethen

A T L A S T ! 😅🎉🤩 I checked the final box of the season last night, running 15:47.16 at the Hamilton Last Chance Twilight! Thanks to these two studs, I’m now officially part of the Sub 16 Club! • This season has been a huge step in terms of fitness and confidence, which I hope to carry with me into next year. Here are my pre / post-season PBs: 1500 - 4:20 / 4:13 3000 - 9:20 / 9:01 5000 - 16:06 / 15:47 • If you’ve made it this far, thanks for following. Also, a big thank you to Steve for coming up with a master training plan each week, Will for pacing me through countless workouts, New Balance for making me look good, the BackRoads Team for always pumping me up, Mom & Dad for cheering me on, and Chris for telling me when it’s time to kick 👟♥️
