Today I received the heavy hearted news that my grandmother has passed on to the other side. I took the last photo she’d ever smile for just a couple weeks ago. This shot truly captures her soul. Bright, beautiful, confident. Man, was she tough as nails. She raised a family of three by herself. For years she walked miles to and from her three jobs she worked to keep her children fed. Her role has always been reminding us that family comes first. She could eat a bigger steak than you, outwit you, and unconditionally love you all at the same time. Even in the final chapters of this journey of life, she went out just like we all should, with a smile and a smart-ass attitude. I thank her for giving birth to the woman that gave me life. You will always be cherished. Rest In Peace, Grandma.

It was sixty four degrees last night with a moderate breeze. We hit summit with fifteen minutes of light left, and we watched the sun fall behind the horizon. It was initially a struggle to get a fire started, but momma ain’t raise no quitter. We drank beer and talked about life and aliens and bears vs gorillas. Sleep was hard to come by, but I gotta say, listening to the quiet hum of bluegrass playing from my phone and swaying with the trees in my hammock above the city lights was pretty zen. After dozing for a couple hours I woke up and almost stepped on a copperhead. Yin and yang right?

Had the pleasure of meeting this seven week old lil guy today. Got to spend a solid 15 mins with him between clients. Swipe to see before going outside to play vs after going outside to play. Good boy. He’s gonna have the best life.

Day 14: It finally stopped raining long enough to play outside again.

Nothin’ quite like the calm before the storm. Today I watched the black skies creep across the river. Even when the wind starts beating the trees there is such a subtle tranquility about it. Super sick. Go get rained on. ☔️
