Harvard College Opera is producing “Cendrillon,” French composer Jules Massenet’s 1899 adaptation of the classic Cinderella fairytale. ⠀ ⠀ The production is entirely student-run, and the students tackle all the creative and technical work. They select the opera the previous April, conceptualize every piece of it, budget it, cast it, and stage it. During the fall, they hammer out details like choreography and props. In January, they put the show together and run full rehearsals. The show opened February 1, and continues through this Sunday, February 10. ⠀ ⠀ Photos: Stephanie Mitchell/Harvard Staff Photographer

This is a 3D printing of a canopic jar lid that was excavated from the Valley of the Kings in 1903. The original jar lid is more than 3,400 years old and once held the organs of a mummy. ⠀ ⠀ The 3D printed artifact - which took 28 hours to print - is used by Harvard researchers to practice restoration techniques.
