CLAYPOT CRAB RICE CRACK 🦀🍚🍲 at Kepong’s Xi Gong restaurant. So so moreish! The dark soy, rice wine, ginger & black pepper sauce gets a supercharge of umami from the crab juices & brown crab meat. The rice, cooked to a T with plenty of glorious crispy bits at the bottom of the Claypot.
This was my first of what I imagine will be many visits here. One for the hitlist of staple KL favourites. So much excellent food in Kepong, have barely scratched the surface of the options here! .

Duck Egg CKT at Wan Shoon in Damansara Kim. Great wok hei here, yet not overly greasy. Loved the creamy duck egg and the properly crispy pork lard cubes. Generous amounts of prawns, chinese sausage & cockles throughout too. Excellent by Klang Valley standards imho and close to some of Penang’s best.
