We 💜you all so much!
Thank you to all our supporters, donors, volunteers and heroes, you are our Valentine!😊
📣 🦘UPDATE ON OUR FURRY FRIENDS🦘📣 Tens of thousands of additional carrots and sweet potatoes have been flown by helicopter into NSW national parks thanks to Woolworths, Foodbank NSW & ACT, and WWF-Australia banding together to support the NSW Government’s aerial food drop program.
These helicopter drops have been able to deliver emergency food to the endangered Brush-tailed rock-wallaby as we wait for other food sources to become naturally available.
While feeding people doing it tough in Australia is our first priority, if we have food that is not fit for human consumption but can be used for animal feed - we will try and do what we can to help our endangered animals in these regions that have been terribly affected by recent fires.
#Thankyou to everyone for your continued support.💜🙌 #ZeroHunger#ZeroWaste#HelpAll#BushFireCrisis#LeaveNoOneBehind#AnimalsIncluded 📷 credit, NSW Government, Department of Planning, Industry and Environment. NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service

🌱BUSHFIRE RELIEF UPDATE🌱
The team at Foodbank SA have been on the ground since day one of these dreadful fires, delivering hampers to bush fire affected communities.
They now move into the recovery phase - looking at what is specifically needed in each area to make sure each affected community gets the right relief. From setting up mobile hubs and providing cooked meals in Adelaide Hills, to helping the communities on Kangaroo Island with deliveries of food to twice a week to help the residents, including many farmers who are still living on the island, Foodbank SA is working hard to make sure no one is forgotten and remind the communities we are here for the long haul. #ZeroHunger#BushFireRelief💜
This week as students all around the country start to head back to school for a brand new year of learning, we know this can be an extremely tough time for many families. At Foodbank, we’re here to help.
With the support of generous national donors, local donors and respective state governments, Foodbank provides food to over 2,000 schools via our School Breakfast Programs and Clubs to give students the best possible start to their day.
These wonderful programs manned by volunteers, staff and even the student body, serve up delicious fresh fruit, toast and cereal to any students at the school. There is no stigma or shame, everyone is welcome, regardless of whether you have eaten or not – it’s a chance for students to sit with friends, fill their bellies and be ready to concentrate.
Thank you to our School Breakfast Program coordinators, volunteers and schools for helping us fuel the precious minds of the future.

Have you wondered what we’ve been up to in the last 2 weeks? Our CEO Brianna Casey, has a quick update for you all, focussing on NSW, VIC and SA in particular. Whilst the devastating bushfires have been our focus in the last few weeks, our drought-ravaged communities are still very much front of mind, and we are still providing food relief to vulnerable families right across Australia. We’re off to Canberra again tomorrow to continue working in partnership with other national charities working tirelessly on bushfire relief, and working with government to ensure that any barriers to our ability to get help on the ground can be quickly overcome as a matter of urgency. We are enormously grateful for your support and can’t do what we do without you, so we’ll keep you informed of how your support is helping people affected by bushfires. Stay tuned for updates! #zerohunger#bushfiresaustralia#leavenoonebehind#animalsincluded@foodbanksouthaustralia@foodbankvictoria@foodbanknswact
Although our focus over the past few weeks has been responding to the bushfire crisis and providing emergency relief wherever it was needed, our ongoing mission is to fight hunger. As dust storms rolled into many central and north western towns in NSW this week, its a stark reminder that we're still in drought and our rural communities battle with the elements every day.
