Art that has personal significance is always the best kind of art. It makes your home feel, well, home-y. This stunning series of photos was taken by the one and only @mrorlandosoria from his childhood hometown of Yosemite for his old master bedroom…yes I can’t believe he grew up there either. Not only is it beautiful, but it adds that extra layer of personality. What is your favorite piece of art in your house?? 📷 @tessaneustadt

As a professional stylist, I can generally picture how a piece is going to look in a space and be right 75% of the time. BUT that other 25% is why me and all the other stylists of the world need LOTS of options on a shoot. Enter @targetstyle ’s new See it in Your Space feature. Now with Target home brands you can see how their products are going to look in your space with a quick snap of a photo. It’s magical and I am so happy it exists. Head to the blog for a step by step tutorial on how it works and the space we designed using it. Cute dog not available on the app. Link in Bio.

Monday hit fast and hard today (when doesn’t it?). To remedy this shock to my system, I plan to curl up with my kids and read a good book. If only I had a reading corner like the one in @samgluck ’s house, amiright? 📷 @alisonbernier

About twice a year, I turn into the person that I want to be: someone who cares about how the inside of my cabinets and drawers look. Someone that would be gladly welcomed into the Lifestyle Mafia due to my carefully curated kitchen organizational products. Today’s blog post has prompted my biannual need to make my kitchen functional and BEAUTIFUL. Head to the blog to see all the pretty items we rounded up and what I will be most definitely buying for myself. Link in Profile 📷 @tessaneustadt

Give it to me straight. Are piano lessons once a week when we don’t practice the rest of the week a waste of money for now? I feel like we aren’t organized enough to work it into our routine, and I’m apparently too selfish with my time to force toddlers to practice on the weekends. We engage with it and play around maybe once a week, but I fear that I have charlie (4 1/2) in lessons to make me feel like a good mom, but without me playing an active roll in the development and following through I’m kinda doing the opposite. Thoughts? (Also if you are in LA looking for a good kids music private teacher we love @craftmusicla ) I just wish I had the discipline to practice with them. How do you work it into your schedule??

I fear my young staff won’t have kids because of me. I think I’m a cautionary tale. You see …. I’m a terrible spokesperson for ‘running a business’ and ‘having small kids’ and I worry that they’ve SEEN. TOO. MUCH. The other day they came to my house around 5:45pm and witnessed one child screaming, in the living room, pants around ankles, “WIPE MY BUM THERE IS POOP!!!’ and the other screaming for packaged snacks 5 minutes before dinner. They were and are constantly horrified that after managing a company and a team of people for 8 hours, I have 3.5 more hours of “work”. And lets face it THE HARDEST HOURS OF THE DAY. That shit show is hard to erase from your brain. It’s not infrequent. Its just my life. I do think it makes them understand why I am the way I am and why I require the mental, physical and emotional help that I do (AND I DO). Listen, having children is not right for everyone and its definitely a daily sacrifice of personal time/freedom/sanity so you have to WANT it. I want them (my team) to know that what you don’t get to see or feel is the parenting magic that is equivalent to climbing Mount Everest every. single. day. It’s a huge challenge but when at the top, when your kids are asking for family hug or when they say strangely poignant things like ‘I’m going to love you forever and ever, and your hand and mine will always hug’ you cry because your entire skin pillow is filled with happiness. For at the end of the day we (and perhaps you) are truly so happy we made this choice for us. At times I know I’m a CAUTIONARY TALE to younger people, because I make parenting look exhausting and like such WORK (and it is) but there are moments because of my loving family and a thriving career, that I kinda think I might ALSO be living my own personal FAIRY TALE. It can be the the most challenging, exhausting, best and yet JOYFUL years of your/my life. So folks, CHEERS TO THIS WEEKEND BEING MORE LIKE SLEEPING BEAUTY AND LESS LIKE CINDERELLA. It will not be a fantasy, but hopefully with or without kids its pretty darn fantastic.😴❤️💪(also double tap or ‘like’ if you want more family/personal posts 😬)

I’m SO excited for the master bedroom in the #ehdmountainfixerupper. So far, we’ve vaulted the ceilings, put in a fireplace and huge new windows. We also have a spot for a decent sized closet, which design assistant @velindahellendesign has done a bang up job designing. Guys, what she did with the space (we’re talking glass enclosures) is basically genius. Head to the blog to marvel at her work and join in on my excitement. Link in bio. Design by @studiomcgee

Summer is winding down and I’m like HOW?!? But looking at my old deck makes my little hippie heart happy, but also makes me realize I’m in full on denial that it won’t be patio-perfect weather always and forever. 📷 @brittanyambridge for @dominomag
