new around here? ✨
there’s a few fresh faces following my gram after @wattpad shared a snap of me yesterday, so I thought I’d say hi and introduce myself 👋🏻 so hey! I’m Elle, an Aussie author currently living in Berlin, Germany. I work full-time in marketing for @babbel, but in my spare time I write and post stories on Wattpad.
My book, Brew Books, was chosen to be one of the first paid stories on the site, which was an exciting step in my writing career. It’s contemporary fic, about a girl working in a bookshop & café with a bunch of other young people… and shit gets dramatic.
I’m also currently writing a YA fantasy, Starrlings, about two magical girls from very different backgrounds - a princess of fire, and a poor orphan with ice magic. At first they hate each other… but when they discover an evil plot, they team up to save the world 🔥❄️ Here on my insta I share my thoughts on books I’m reading, snaps of my travels around Europe, and a bunch of pics of my life in Berlin. I’m stoked to have you on board!
This snap was taken by my super talented photographer friend, @solmariathomas, who is currently embarking on a huge world trip, so you should definitely check out her adventures, too!
new favourite reading spot ✨
jk obviously this is uncomfortable af 🙅🏼♀️ After a pretty wild May Day I thought I might have a chill reading & writing weekend, but of course that’s too much to ask for in Berlin.
Instead, last night l joined a bunch of inspiring creative ladies for a free wine tasting networking event hosted by @bumble_germany, where I pretended to know things about grape types and drank a fair share of vino.
The rest of my weekend is booked up with more eating and drinking and merriness... although I’m hoping I’ll sneak in some time tomorrow to pop a new chapter of Starrlings on Wattpad.
p.s. if you just can’t get enough of seeing my mug on this insta profile, keep your peepers peeled over at the @wattpad insta where my dorky grin will be gracing their feed anytime soon.
What are you up to this weekend?? ✨
Stay sun safe, kids ☀️
Spending this sunny Saturday on my balcony with tea and my novel. I haven’t written anything in a while - the chaos of moving flats - but now I’m settled I can finally put some words to paper. This morning I popped down to the market to pick up some lavender and thyme, so it smells amazing out here. 🌻
It’s also the first time these pale pins of mine have seen the sun in a while 👻
*reads Virginia Woolf once*
I like shooting bookish photos, because I like books, and I like photos. Over the weekend I experimented with some slightly more risqué snaps, which may never have seen the light of day had it not been for my supportive, creative friends who have encouraged me to express myself in my artistic endeavours. All this to say, here’s a photo of me in a bra. But it’s also a photo about femininity, and an inherent truth about myself - I’m a writer, and I have a room of my own. In my very own room, I shall do as I please. Although maybe I should get back to writing…
