“@bluenjy is a deaf French bulldog. Because he was born deaf he developed special skills like eating with a fork and his paws. He is an inspiration to many people. He is the example that shows having a disability shouldnt stop you from being the best you can be! Unique and special he is one in a billion!” writes @bluenjy
SENIOR SUNDAY! @susiesseniordogs wants to know: has Candy caught your eye?! This 12 year old sweet-tart is looking for her forever candy crush! Before getting rescued, little Candy lived a life of neglect. The final straw was when she fell off a balcony - likely because she could not see and she walked off the ledge while nobody was watching her. Thankfully, Candy was brought to @ani@animalhaven shelter in Manhattan, NYC and received a whole lot of vet care. Candy is now up for adoption and ready to find a responsible forever home. This little senior sugarpop is looking for her equally sweet, special someone!
Candy is completely blind but it does not hinder her ability to love one bit! She also has a few "old lady growths" but is otherwise OK. She weighs just 10 pounds. Candy's ideal home would be one that is filled with lots of quiet time to relax and simply hangout during the day. Candy does not need much other than a human who enjoys pampering old pups! She gets along with other calm and friendly dogs and cats - but a home without rambunctious toddlers would be best for Candy. She loves to eat and to be spoiled and would truly thrive in a doting home.
If you wish to learn more about Candy, please visit her at @animalhaven shelter located at 200 Centre Street, Manhattan, NYC. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 12 noon to 7PM. (@animalhaven currently has many senior dogs in their care who are looking for adopters, please visit the shelter and ask to meet with a senior!)

ATTENTION NEW YORK! This St. Patrick’s Day, the @aspca is celebrating St. Pitties Day! Tomorrow (March 17) and Sunday (March 18) the ASPCA Adoption Center in NYC will reduce adoption fees for adult Pit Bull mixed breed dogs to $17 (regularly $75 - $250). By lowering adoption fees, they’re hoping to give these dogs some extra luck finding their forever homes! If you’re interested, be sure to stop in this weekend!
