Today, we are taking the next step in our journey towards sustainability. We’d like to thank those of you who have been using your own bowls in our outlets for leading the way. We have decided to formally adopt your initiative and also add a cherry on top. So, henceforth, when you BYOB (Bring Your Own Bowl), for every disposable container you save, Corner House will donate 10 rupees to a worthy cause. We are tying up with different charities and we will periodically publish the donations which will be made possible by your efforts. The first charity we will be donating to is Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (CUPA). Head on over to their page to know more about the amazing work they do to save and protect animals.
So, what are you waiting for? Treat yourself and the planet at the nearest Corner House!
Some of you may have have noticed a change in our outlets recently. We are happy to announce that we have completely moved away from plastic for all in-house dining! Over time, many of you have expressed concerns over our use of plastic packaging and frankly, its been a concern for us too. We did make a concerted effort to shift to paper last year but it simply didn't work for our product and (in the face of an onslaught of complaints) we had to roll that back. We've finally found a material which works for us - bagasse. Its the residue which remains after processing sugarcane and its completely eco friendly. Regrettably, it still doesn't work for takeaway but rest assured that we're working (very hard) to find a solution to that too. Until then, perhaps you could consider dining in with us instead of ordering :) This is only the beginning of our journey to sustainability and we hope you'll stay the course with us.
