The daylight starts to get a little shorter now, the air a little crisper, the light a little more faint. We just had the first full moon before the autumnal equinox on the 23rd so that means autumn is beginning to trickle in. โœจ - In ancient times, they had this symbol of a goddess walking through the land, and from her feet the next season would spring. I feel like that is exactly how seasons come. Not as an overnight switch, but as a breath of air that moves across the hillside. - #qotd: what do you find most beautiful about life? #aotd: I find the beginning of each day, and just when the sun is setting on each day, the most beautiful thing of all. It's a gentle reminder that we are here, that we are living our lives.

It was amazing for my creative process / writing, I can't recommend it more! - Tomorrow is the [สฐแตƒสณแต›แต‰หขแต— แตแต’แต’โฟ] which is officially our little pre-celebration to welcome in autumn (yay!). ๐Ÿ‚โ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ•ฏ๐Ÿงฆ - In my highlights I've done a little folklore lesson for you guys on the ancient observances of the autumn equinox (which is in 10 days) because online there really is no accurate information on it. I had to do some serious etymology research (researching the origins of words) to find something that wasn't Celtic or Roman. - For my WIP at the moment I'm researching into ancient Brythonic traditions, and if you've been following me for a while, you'll know I'm all about those accurate traditions (rather than the continental Celtic traditions that are plastered over the Brythonic ones). - I think you'll be surprised to find out the root meaning and celebration of it, just as I was. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ‚ - #qotd: what are you most looking forward to in autumn? #aotd: I'm looking forward to studying German and doing some classes, researching for my WIP more, writing more short stories, and writing more blog posts for you!

Ancient scholars often say that nothing in our history is certain, that is, until we have physical evidence. ๐Ÿ”Ž - One of the topics I kinda fell into researching is the topic of human origin. We're all familiar with the Darwinian theory, but what if this isn't the only one? - ๐Ÿงฌ In recent years, biologists have found that chromosome two, the second largest chromosome in our DNA sequence, is actually an optimised fusion of DNA that isn't found in this specific way in any other species. They say now it's not random, and actually allows us to have intellectual function. - ๐Ÿ“œ Now let's look at the mythology. In the Sumerian Epics, there's a passage about how celestial beings created humans to be self aware, after the being who created them initially, only wanted humans for slaves. These beings gave us the power of self awareness & intellect. - Isn't that interesting?! Maybe by unlocking the symbolism of the mythology, we can understand ourselves better, and our history. - Let me know if you want me to do a blog post on decoding some mythological stories! I'm reading ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’“๐’'๐’” ๐‘ฑ๐’๐’–๐’“๐’๐’†๐’š ๐’ƒ๐’š ๐‘ฑ๐’๐’”๐’†๐’‘๐’‰ ๐‘ช๐’‚๐’Ž๐’‘๐’ƒ๐’†๐’๐’ at the moment so by using his techniques I can actually decode mythologies with more ease now. ๐Ÿค—

I love how fantasy and historical fiction are so often intertwined. I think it adds a real layer of mystery and wonder that is so on point with how history really is! A world of mystery and whimsy -- full of shamanism, potent herbal concoctions, and those enigmatic standing stones. . We have to, above all else, believe that something greater for our own lives is possible. . Such was the opinion of Marguerite. She was a French noble woman in the sixteenth century, who worked her way into a prominent position within courtly French society. She was the Queen of Navarre, grandmother of the future Bourbon king but also, she compiled works both religious and secular, and advocated the reformation within Europe. . She believed that everyone has the capacity for greatness and eternal peace, which was achieved through your own conviction, not rote prayers. . Her works were so moving, Erasmus said this of her:ย "For a long time I have cherished all the many excellent gifts that God bestowed upon you; prudence worthy of a philosopher; chastity; moderation; piety; an invincible strength of soul, and a marvelous contempt for all the vanities of this world. Who could keep from admiring, in a great king's sister, such qualities as these, so rare even among the priests and monks." . She both achieved great things, and also contributed great things to the world. I think really this is the key to success. To be as kind as a monk, and as ambitious to achieve as a knight. The balance of surrender and action. . It's also incredible to think someone like this could exist and thrive within late medieval society -- a time most of us would think she would be condemned as a witch. . #qotd: how can you believe in yourself enough to achieve great things for yourself? . #aotd: anytime I feel doubt creep in, I remind myself that it is possible, and take a step back and see how I can really live in that possibility today. Sometimes it's as simple as viewing everything as achievable, and feeling all my needs and wants being fulfilled.

Are the Brythonic people related to the Celts from Continental Europe? . In years gone past, scholars assumed that the Brythonic people migrated from Continental Europe when it will still connected by a main stretch of land, called Doggerland. . However in recent years, this assumption has been undermined by research that suggests the Brythonic people arrived along the Atlantic seaboard. . ๐Ÿ‰This means that the Brythonic people are actually ethnically different to the Celts from Mainland Europe, and this isn't really surprising. . ๐Ÿ‰Linguistically, the surviving languages today of Welsh, Scottish and Cornish are all far different from the languages spoken where the Celts came from -- predominantly France and Germany (which back then was Gaulish and a Proto-Germanic lamguage). . ๐Ÿ‰This is also reflected in the mythology. The Brythonic people in their mythology point to a lost civilisation as their origins. Yes, this is true of all ancient cultures, but if we look at Welsh, Cornish and Breton mythology, the story is actually quite similar. So similar, that it's like reading the same story. . ๐Ÿ‰Archaeologically, there is now evidence that the Brythonic people were master boat builders -- which would explain how they were able to sail to the British Isles in the Mesolithic period and before. We also have data that shows the first people arriving in Britain arrived in Wales. It's looking more and more possible that these people, our ancestors, sailed their way across the ocean to the Isles, making it their home, and leaving us traces of their origins in their mythology. . I get so excited when more and more research comes out about this time period! We certainly live in such an exciting time for archaeology. . ๐Ÿ’ฌ Did this open your eyes? Did you always feel that the Brythonic people were different to the Celts? I always had that feeling and now with the new research, it makes it even more concrete in my mind.

Hey-o! Life has been like a crazy wild ride lately, must be something in the air, but through it all I'm having the best time riding the wave. . It reminds me of the parts of my story where my characters are experiencing new and exciting adventures that turn their lives upside down, and then I remind myself that life is really just encouraging me to grow! I think this is the part of the hero's journey where they've crossed the threshold and now they're experiencing growth and new skills. . @m.shelley.h tagged me to do #behindthebookstagrammer: . โ‹’ nickname: I have a nickname that my best friend calls me, but the one everyone mostly call me by lately is Claudi. Mostly everyone just calls me by my full name. โ‹’ eye color: blue โ‹’ star sign: gemini โ‹’ lucky number: for some reason since I was little my lucky number has always been 6. I have no idea why but that's what it is. โ‹’ favorite color: a dusty pink is my favorite color for sentimental value, my fav wearable colour is white, black and blue. . I'm excited to see what each day will bring. That's what I remind myself at the end of each day and the beginning of the next day -- to live intentionally and really enjoy each moment. I'm at a stage where I'm finally happy in all areas of my life and I'm determined to enjoy that to the best of my ability! . #qotd: what are you excited for in your life right now?
