It's Local Government Week! During the 4/15 #CapeCouncil meeting, Mayor Bob Fox issued a proclamation in its honor. City Manager Scott Meyer accepted it on behalf of the 400 city employees that make it their passion to serve Cape. We thank them for all they do! #MoLocalGov
On Friday, March 29, Students from Notre Dame Regional High School and Cape Central High School spent the morning with us at City Hall, City of Cape Girardeau Development Services, Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation, Cape Girardeau Fire Department, and other city departments to get a glimpse into what it takes to run your local government as a part of the Optimist Youth in Government Day. We had a blast hanging out with this great group of future community leaders!
Our Council Chambers are full tonight with those showing interest in our community by participating in our Citizen Academy! The group is embarking on a 10-week course to learn about all their local government has to offer. Tonight's session includes an overview and budget information.
