All my babies. I always talk about the importance of community. We’re so pressured to succeed and make money and build platforms that we put things like “building a community” at the bottom of the priorities list. This community around my children and my family is THE pillar of my existence. The reason I can work and not worry. These women/family members/friends/tias are what fill my children’s lives with love, support, safety, traditions and culture. But I have to tell you, it was very clearly a part of the plan. Luck will certainly be blamed for this but luck isn’t the reason I have mutually respectful and loving relationships with my siblings. Luck isn’t the reason they and their kids feel safe and know they will be loved in my house. Luck isn’t what makes me tell people that I will pick their kid up from school and feed them if they promise to do the same for my kid tomorrow. Luck doesn’t make me genuinely worry about the safety and wellbeing of every single child that not only comes in my home but lives in my community. God gave me tools, I was just smart enough to use them to build and nurture this safety net that has become what I hold as the moat valuable thing in me and my childrens’ life. Gracias familia. Remember the “I don’t care” post about being 40? That’s how we’re feeling about grays these days. Headed to WGLA Good Morning Washington in Washington DC with my friends from @capitalone ... And who’s that hottie at the door? #itsbatman @sevenxvventures

Red @carinaluzvalladolid717 is back. She spent 10 days with my sister-in-law Michelle @michellebuttonsounds in India. They were at the Kiva Kumbh Mela; A four-day ceremony aiming to unify ‘ancestral’ cultures for the protection of holy rivers of the world. Our friend, Gorilla, the man who guided us in Teotihuacán and the caves a few months ago, was there representing the Mexicas. You can imagine how fascinating her trip was. I just want my children to understand all, explore all, LOVE all, open their hearts to all. With these two aunts of theirs they’ll certainly have the guides they need to do so! Welcome back hermana... gracias por el Vestido de Annita❤️🐭

A 16 year old me on a High School trip to Asia. (OLP ‘96). I don’t think it appropriate to get into the details of the magnitude of the shenanigans but, JESUS, I often say I’m just glad there were no iPhones with cameras back in the day. But that’s me, looking a little like Anna, a little like David and a lot like Fau... Gracias Mich por las fotos❤️ #KateMossBrow #ButMexican There’s a side-by-side of me and Fau in my stories...💪🏻

Having a pre-shower meeting with @janetfp because we got some vey good news on a couple fronts this morning so I wore my solution-for-puffy-eyes hat. And 37F? What the Fahrenheit San Diego?

What does dad-love look like? Carrying your kid up 248 very steep steps to the top of the 210 foot Pyramid of the Sun and doing the same thing on the way down so your kid gets to experience the magic. These are the things I look up at the heavens and give thanks for. #gooddads @sevenxvventures

Anna was not having it. On a plane and headed home. Big Bear who? I have to tell you, THAT WAS EXHAUSTING but totally exhilarating. In about 48 hours we ate the best tacos in Mexico City, Climbed the Pyramid of the Sun with David in tow, explored the sacred caves of Teotihuacan, partook in thousand-year-old ceremonies at both of these locations-at the highest point of the pyramid and underground in a cave, got up TOO early for a matinee of the Mexican Folkloric Ballet with the babies, ate at my brother’s go-to lunch spot, saw A Star Is Born (dude we needed a break), went to the Papalote Museum, hit to one of the best Panaderias in Mexico (Maque, YOU DIE. I DIED), walked Masaryk where Philip and my brother got fitted for Italian suits, packed and are flying home. God help these people for putting up with my insanity but seeing David’s eyes almost come out of his head at the ballet, Fau begging for more time to explore the caves and Anna partake in a sacred ritual that had her flap her arms to make her shadow look like a flying eagle are things these nuts will remember for the rest of their days. As will me and el guero. A big thank you to the kind soul that let all 7 of us crash in his pad❤️. #ComeToMexico #VivaMexico #LandOfTheCultured #Pyramids #Beauty #MexicanFood Edit: It also needs to be mentioned that, because of the altitude, everything you do here feels like you’re doing it AFTER running up a flight of stairs which probably had me become extra asshole-y but, hey, we got sh*t done. No but seriously high altitude is no bueno for me. Last time at the mountains I almost climbed out a bathroom window it was so bad (long story) so take that into consideration when traveling here...

Zenithal light... Thought to be observatories but much more than that. Ceremonies of light coming into the darkness. Sacred places where you ask to become what you are meant to become. Where you ask to be shown your power. Last time I was here I was with my sister during the zenith passage of the sun and I remember thinking, MAN I NEED TO BRING FAU. And here we are... Te amo flaco.
