Melissa Tatti of the women's 🏀 team and Johneil Simpson of the men's 🏀team were named the Brock University Muscle MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 11.
Tatti, a fourth-year Social Sciences student from Ancaster, led the Brock women's basketball team to their first two victories of the season over the weekend. Tatti scored 21 points, six assists, six steals and collected four rebounds as the Badgers defeated Laurentian 75-60 on Friday. The next night, Tatti poured in 27 points against the Nipissing Lakers en route to a 73-56 win. She also went eight-for-nine on free throws.
Simpson, a fifth-year Bachelor of Arts student from Toronto, scored 29 points during a 102-88 win over Laurentian on Friday. Simpson moved past Gord Wood to No. 7 among all-time Brock men's basketball scoring leaders with a total of 2,398 career points. On Saturday, Simpson scored 25 points on Nipissing to help the Badgers win 79-51. In total, he drained a total of 15 three pointers.
