How is my infant a little girl all of a sudden?! ❤️ #ElodieScott
Elodie & I went to our first Mama & Baby Pilates class. Won’t be our last.
When I knew I was having a daughter, I thought a lot about what I wanted her to know and how I wanted her to feel. And atop that list - outside of being loved and being safe and trusting that I would always be there for her - was for her to be strong and healthy and love her body. However big/small/tall/short/wide/narrow she is. I am intentional in the way I speak around her; we sing songs about being strong and healthy and go for walks every single day. Food is not “bad”; food - be it formula/breast milk today or a donut tomorrow (ok, or two of them yesterday for me!) - sustains us and makes us happy. We don’t have to like everything, but we should try lots of things. We don’t diet - and I’m certainly not now! - we move our body and breathe fresh air and eat what brings us joy (which is usually mostly healthy. Hey, the donuts are made daily.) So yes. She’s learning early that we take time for ourselves and spend it stretching and bending and moving and hopefully, like today, we do it together. ❤️ #ElodieScott
