How do you color correct?
I always start with Malibu C CPR (Color Pigment Remover) to get a more predictable, clean canvas.
I mean who would wanna cut corners and try to lighten over all this?? Then be mad at the color or lightener because after all, it’s the color/lightener that didn’t work right?
No. No it’s not. 👎🏼
Family. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. RuPaul said it best, “You know, we as gay people, we get to choose our family. We get to choose the people we’re around. You know what I’m saying?"
I think this applies to the salon too. We work with each other everyday and probably see each other more than anyone else. We are family.

Instagram is doing weird things. But let’s talk about something we never talk about. My friend @theplatinumgiraffe posted something the other day and I don’t think any of us do this enough so I’ll start.
I am (facking) amazing!
That felt good!! Now you try! 👇🏼

When this sweet lady came in she was blonde and a decided it time for a change! So we went all in and did a total transformation from blonde to red. 🍁
Color blocking helps to create dimension and even some “highlights”. This creates a more natural result and prevents the hair from looking flat.
I used my most favorite Shu Uemura Wonder Worker to help detangle and add some natural shine before blow drying and the Unite Texturiza for a little lived in texture.
Redken Shades cream is all we used, and of course a Malibu C Pro Color Prepare sachet prior to coloring.
You have to learn the rules before you can break them.
Education is a huge huge part of my career. I just don’t know where I’d be without it. While I love teaching and sharing all things hair, I absolutely cannot express how much I enjoy learning. You can’t ever know all things, or be afraid to fail or make mistakes. Absorb as much information as you can! Even if it’s from someone you work next to everyday.
Always a student.
This sweet girl was visiting from Kansas City and while away from work she decided to switch from being the stylist to being the client. Thank you @kjhairstylistkc for letting me take care of you!
She has extensions so we worked around them using my signature Triangle placement and some Babylights, teasylights, and bolder panels to help create some pops of blonde as well as creating some blend for easy grow out.
@malibucpro blondes packet was used and we glossed with Redken Shades EQ to balance our tones and add some shine!
