Graffiti appeared Monday morning outside a Yale Law School building, quoting testimony from Christine Blasey Ford. “Indelible in the hippocampus is the laughter, the uproarious laughter between the two,” Ford told a Senate committee last month, accusing Brett Kavanaugh and his friend of sexually assaulting her when they were teenagers. Kavanaugh, a graduate of Yale Law School who has repeatedly denied Ford’s accusation, was later confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice. (📸: Laurel Raymond)

The Trump administration is working to define sex under Title IX as solely male or female at birth, with no room for change, according to a New York Times report. The move would mark a major shift for transgender rights in the US. Activists rallied for trans rights at New York's Washington Square Park on Sunday in response to the news, and the The Human Rights Campaign -- among the nation's most prominent LGBTQ rights groups -- called for the Trump administration not to go forward with the rollback of protections for transgender people. No, that's not a crop circle — it's an intricate beach mural made by Welsh sand artist Marc Treanor. Created by raking wet sand on beaches, Treanor's works of art can be seen along the rugged Welsh Pembrokeshire Coast in Britain. While crashing waves ultimately wash away Treanor’s work, he says that's all part of the experience: "It's completely part of it, it's totally integral to the work and the fact it is impermanent and it is temporary.” (📸:Courtesy Marc Treanor)

This photograph of majestic golden snub-nosed monkeys, taken deep in the forest of China's Qinling Mountains, earned Dutch photographer Marsel van Oosten the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year award. The portrait, “The Golden Couple,” beat more than 45,000 entries and 18 other winners in various categories to claim the overall prize, awarded annually by Britain's Natural History Museum. The photograph “is a symbolic reminder of the beauty of nature and how impoverished we are becoming as nature is diminished,” the chair of the judging panel said.(📸:Marsel van Oosten/Natural History Museum)

Japan's famed cherry blossoms usually bloom in the spring, but more than 350 flowering trees have been spotted in the country months ahead of schedule. One expert says the culprit is the extreme weather that plagued Japan throughout the summer, specifically the major typhoons that hit the country. Many trees lost their foliage during the violent storms, so there has been nothing to stop the buds’ development. (📸:Kyodo News via Getty Images)
