Meet our team rider Carter, who’s made his way all the way out from Florida to surf around the California coast line. While for many One More Wave riders surfing is a discovery, in Carter’s case it was about rediscovery. . Spending his childhood surfing on the gulf coast of Florida, Carter joined the 82nd Airborne in North Carolina, but was injured in Afghanistan in 2012 . After that surfing changed dramatically with all the new obstacles Carter faced. It was a challenge not only to keep his prosthetic leg on the board, but a challenge just to keep his prosthetic on himself. . With a lot of determination (and a little bit of duct tape) he once again made surfing the passion it was in his life. Keep an eye out for him as he makes his rounds to the adaptive surf comps coming up this season!
