There is something so special about seeing your kids embrace and fall in love with other cultures! Alexa and Chloe loved walking the streets of #islamujeres and speaking the few Spanish words they know to the locals and were both so eager to learn even more 😍#raisingvoyagers
Today it was a good day. Because it was my #birthday. Yesterday I went to #Amsterdam for a borrel and wanted go home niet to late. But then my friends said “nee nee nee Dick, we go viering your #verjaardag tonight. So at midnight I got an #emmer filled tot the rand with alcohol and with some #vuurwerk. This was so lekker that I celebrated way into de #vroegeuurtjes and forgot a little I had to work all day. After work I went to #Rotterdam#worldtraveler where my other friends organised a real surprise #kinderfeestje for me. We had of course #snoepzakjes and for dinner we put aluminium on the table instead of borden and then threw #chicken en #frietjes on it. This was really cool #noafwas. As tip I want to give some advice to people who want to give me a belated #present. I really would like a new #ruggengraat as clearly I lost mine yesterday again when I said not to much drinking and five minutes later I drank all the beer in Amsterdam @heinekennl
My life is a compilation of plot twists.
From moving to Istanbul, Turkey, only to find myself back on an air mattress in my friend’s living room in St. Louis, Missouri, to touring around South East Asia for five months.
Then I found myself flying back home to be with loved ones for the holidays.
And now I’m back in South East Asia trying to figure out what day it is.
Wherever you go becomes a part of you. The people and places you experience shape you into the person you are ever changing in to.
