I used to have abs back in high school. I was a like 5% body fat. I was skin tight my dude. But i also weighed like 40 lbs and did nothing but cardio for soccer. Plus my eating habits were complete garbage. So tbh them abs didn’t count. Lmao. So now that I’m really focusing on building them from the ground up I see so many benefits. I’ve learned that they’re not just for show. As I’ve been going at it these past couple months I’ve noticed gains in stuff like my squat, my dead lift, ect. These 4 exercises are working for me ATM. I’ll have to switch it up these next couple weeks as I want to avoid a plateau. The mind to muscle connection is really important with any workout. Especially with abs. Using the momentum with your arms or swinging your legs can really fuck you up. So yeah I have some stuff to work on but keeping the abs engaged and not resting during the exercise is key. Shoutout to Khalid one time lol. Yeah I still have a lot of work to do but damn it ima get it done. Here you go. Two hours later and I feel relaxed and completely recharged. I truly love working out and love lifting anytime I can no matter my mood. As someone who struggles with anxiety it can be really hard to shake it off at times and can definetly turn you towards some bad habits. I have found exercise cures all of that. What motivation is & what motivation isn’t👇🏼 • I get asked how in the world I stay motivated. How do I get up at 4 a.m. in the midst of 65 hour work weeks? How do I get amped to eat meal-prepped lunches of chicken & rice vs take-out & dessert? • To be honest, I have no solid answer other than these have become my habits. This is the lifestyle I have fallen in love with. I am not always motivated; I am always dedicated. My original motivation on this journey was similar to many: lose weight,, “tone up”, like how my body looked, etc. But these were just wishes. • There was no true “why” behind what I was doing. I started losing some weight & gaining muscle. But I soon realized looking good would never be enough. Aesthetics are a moving target; of course your body can always look a little bit better. • The shift came when I finally discovered I was worth more than a lifetime of giving up. I hired a coach who holds me accountable and believes in me fiercely. Of course I still want to look good. But it’s not why I’m here. My motivation has transformed into dedication to lifelong health. And I want every single person I’m able to touch in this world to know they are so much more than the external. • So, remember — Motivation is necessary for kickstarting your journey. Motivation isn’t stable or linear or everlasting. • Motivation is internal. Motivation isn’t external. • Motivation is something to be utilized, but it is never something to be dependent on.
