We can't take others where we haven't been.
We can't take others where we're unwilling to go.
Trying to lead without sharing parts of yourself or portraying the "having it all together" persona isn't accessible and keeps others away.
As I help leaders become burnout proof and organizations find their resilience--I have to share those parts of my own journey (e.g. the good, the bad and downright ugly). Being inauthentic hinders connection. My capacity to hold space for others correlates with my own self-awareness, #healing journey and self-management.
How did you find your way through difficult times? How did you learn a lesson the hard way? What beliefs drive your work and help you show up best? They don't need the full picture to get the hint.
Takeaway: hiding makes you inauthentic, and that dampers any possibility or legacy you are working towards. This weekend, think about the your "hiding parts". How can you bring them to life?

#DilzaTaranto
