Despite being fairly consistent, her weight didn’t change much. Maybe a quarter or half a pound lost tops. - Needles to say, she was a bit discouraged 👎... - Her bummed-out attitude was no surprise either. Especially when you consider the weight loss culture as a whole. All you see is “lose 10 pounds in 10 days!” or “lose weight fast doing this diet!” - And while it’s totes okay to use weight as a tool for monitoring progress, it’s not the only thing that matters... - Once my client and I started digging into the numbers a bit more, we discovered that she’d actually lost four total inches from her waist and hips! What’s more, her strength in the gym had gone up too! - You see, there are oodles of things that count towards making progress. Meet my psychiatrist If you have been following my posts recently you know that I have struggled with depression for most of my life. I definitely could have benefited from going to a professional psychiatrist. However, I didn’t have the money. And two, my ego was definitely too big to let that happen. I was in complete denial for many years. About 3.5 years ago I came across a guy named Tai Lopez and he sent me down a self-development path that I will be living for the rest of my life. Books are amazing, and over this time period I have read several hundred that relate to areas of development that interested me. If you want to grow and are struggling, I’d highly recommend you start reading. Listen to books in the car if you must, podcasts, and read before bed or when you have time. The mind is a beautiful thing and we can become whoever we desire. The first mistake is on the left ❌ —> thinking that eating something “bad” or unhealthy is going to completely undo their hard work.

The second mistake is on the right ❌—> thinking a few “good” or healthy meal should lead to noticeable weight loss results.

Here’s the Truth ✅: what you do MOST of the time is waaaaaaaaaay more important that what you do SOME of the time, and that goes for both “good” and “bad” eating.

In other words, don’t freak out over the occasional pizza or ice cream or whatever. Instead, focus on hitting your targets the majority of the time.

What’s more, if you do overeat, focus on getting back on track as quickly as you can. (Bonus point if you can fit a few slices of 🍕 into your daily targets w/o going over👌)

The same goes for occasionally eating healthy foods. Don’t assume eating a salad 🥗 3-4 times a week will magically solve all your weight loss woes.

If you want to make real changes to your body, then you need to focus on ALL of your eating behaviors & habits, especially the ones you struggle with the most.

What going on inside your head? . If you agree that the state of our body depends on the food we eat and how we exercise. Then the state of our mind must depend on the thoughts and emotions we occupy within our headspace. . What drives your positive emotions? . If you depend on outside circumstances to determine your happiness, you will always be subjected to feeling up and down as the circumstances around you constantly change. . Vacations, food, material items, and job titles are all fleeting. . Anytime you allow your happiness to be driven from the outside in, it will never be consistent or sustainable. . I’m not even close to having things figured out and am on the same journey as many of you. But in my experience in working with clients on a daily basis, I see so much more joy and happiness in the ones that understand they have control and power over their own life, and generate their happiness from the inside vs. consistently relying and reacting to outside forces. . All this needless heartache towards perfection is wasting your time AND efforts and sending you on the fast train to FAILURE-TOWN anyways! 😮 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Some of my personal failures are SPECTACULAR — like the time I sold those tummy wraps that after 45 minutes “shrank the fat away”. 😹Or the time I worked in one of those “herbal magic” weight loss stores that sold said “magic” in little herbal💊pills that robbed peeps of their appetite...AND their moolah🤑Guess what? As soon as they stopped taking those “magic pills” their appetites came back...verociously. Ok maybe I also was one of those peeps🤦🏼‍♀️. #truthbomb 💣 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ So here I sit, having gained 10lbs since November because...I FAILED. 😒So I’m gonna get REAL with my healthy🥦eating efforts (cuz let’s face it, I’ve fallen waaaay off track) and get comfy with being uncomfy with the reality that I FAILED.
