I remember when I was flowing on the "Upper East Side" & could feel the judgement & doubt from others because I acquired an accent in my voice & a swag that has organically been flowing in my veins. Chalk Art was something I used to express myself & I gave my own meaning to what a certain brew meant to me. Gave my back to the bullshit & drained it all out to create something that seemed so simple yet stimulating & an intro to conversation. I don't study Hip Hop & try to be down, I live it. I grew up on 90s-00s Rock/Skate Culture. Like my son Earl said: "Too black for the white kids, and too white for the blacks." I got teased by whites for trying to act black & by blacks/browns for trying to be white. I can still carry the same plethora of knowledge & experience in Beer, Art, Music, Extreme Sports but represent it through authentic expression. This post is about being yourself & attracting people who will fuck with you, believe in you, endorse you, & build with you without trying to change you or edit you down. Who aren't there for the money but the future. Who would drop whatever they're doing just to make sure you're going to be well today & tomorrow. I work with & support everyone whether they reach back for the hand that's always extended. So how ya'll trying to build? @thesamplerbk is the just the beginning of this movement for us.
