Double post pic is Charles joseph of lorraine archbishop of trier bishop of olomouc and osnabruck abbot of prum. Born in 1680 at vienna the son of great soldier duke charles V of lorraine. He was elected archbishop elector of trier and was opposed by brandenburg. In 1711 he used his vote to elect emperor charles 6. He helped negotiate the end of the war of Spanish succession convincing the french to end the occupation of trier in 1714. He died of smallpox in 1715 at vienna.

He married 1st in 1713 to marie de stramboni and 2nd in 1747 to innocentia de rouge du plessis bellier he had no kids. In 1706 he served emperor joseph 1 habsburg at naples as general of cavalry causing king louis the 14th of france to break ties with him. At naples he had architect ferdinando sanfelice build him a home called villa d'elbeuf near portici in 1711 king charles of naples was so impressed by the home he built reggia di portici in 1738 in its style. While in naples he discovered the ruins herculaneum and pompeii where he organized early digs recovering many marble statues which he decorated his home with. He returned to france to try to regain his possessions there. As the youngest son he was not expected to be duke but all his brothers died and charles became duke of elbeuf in 1748. He died in 1763 aged 85 at france his cousin charles eugene succeeded him as duke.
