#foo#foodfriday This is a HUGELY IMPORTANT MESSAGE!! We’re 19 days into the New Year - your finding your routine is getting a little easier, be that food prep and eating a little better. Exercising a little more and generally making a lifestyle change for the better.. You see change doesn’t happen over night. There’s no magic pill, tea, shake or diet strategy that is the be all and end all of your new routine.. It starts and finishes with you and what you control, first and foremost is the fork!! If you keep shovelling junk food and shite guess what happens? Yup your body reacts negatively too it (skin, sleeping patterns, mood, physical condition etc) Secondly you’ll NEVER out train a bad diet I don’t care who you are that just doesn’t happen.. Adapt your eating behaviour to match your goals and time scale IF your overweight, cardio SHOULD NOT be the only form of exercise you do..lifting weights DOESNT IMMEDIATELY make you look like the hulk but should form 60% of your training (program and result dependent)!! Stay hydrated - if your eating emotionally drink water before reaching for the buns - you may be surprised! Eat slower - eating slower allows your body absorb and digest the food properly - you’ll find you’ll eat a little less. NEVER GET CAUGHT IN WHAT THE SCALES SAY!! This is probably the biggest misconception! You hear the scales never lie.....well they don’t always tell the truth either.. Iv seen people lose 5-7lbs in a week on programs that in theory are a great idea but far too much emphasis is placed on weight and not on the other key indicators of fat loss - I don’t use weight as a stand alone gauge either, and I use fat loss deliberately because fat loss is the correlation between muscle mass, body fat %, weight, visceral fat and a few other indicators to your overall picture of fat loss and lifestyle change. Use your clothes as a gauge and ditch the bloody scales because overall the mean bugger all!! ¿Y cuando debemos empezar con las transiciones? Pues aquí hay gustos para todo el mundo. Hay entrenadores a los que le gusta hacer entrenamientos de ese tipo durante todo el año y los hay que solo los emplean en el periodo específico. En mi opinión tenemos que tener en cuenta la modalidad y por supuesto el material y medios disponibles. Me explico: En larga distancia, la primera fase de la temporada se usa para adquirir la base de fuerza y ritmos que nos servirá para poder ir aumentando los volumenes de las sesiones progresivamente. En nuestra opinión no tiene mucho sentido estar en plena pretemporada haciendo transiciones largas. Por otro lado, para un triatletico de distancia sprint usar las transiciones como parte de una sesión puede ser una magnífica manera de entrenar. Pongo un ejemplo: Series de: 1km en rodillo +500m carrera fuerte. Una serie de este tipo hecha con intensidad nos puede llevar unos 3'30" o 4'. En tiempo es similar a una serie de 1km quizás algo más. Sin duda debemos tener el material adecuado (entrenar en una pista en la que podamos poner un rodillo sería lo perfecto), pero si disponemos de él, en nuestra opinión es un tipo de sesión válida para casi todo el año (variando distancias y/o intensidades). En definitiva, es el trabajo del entrenador buscar el mejor momento para incluir diferentes tipos de sesiones pero creemos que el incluir trabajo específico a nuestra especialidad (nosotros no somos sólo corredores o nadadores) y nivel es lo que nos dará un punto más de calidad. ¡¡¡En el grupo empiezan las transiciones!!! Vamos!!!

Oh my. I went from holding a warm compress on my daughters ear most of the night (= no sleep) to dragging myself out of bed at 7 (helped by my 4 year old right enough!). Needless to say, leg day was the LAST thing i wanted to do. But I have 50 Fitness Bootcamp challengers holding me accountable so I took my own advice and did it anyway.
