It’s only the middle of February and this I already my fourth trip away from home this year. Keeping your routine while traveling is super hard. In the past I let myself a few days off running when I was away from home, but I’m trying very hard this year to avoid slacking off. To give you an idea of just how hard…⠀ ⠀ I did 13 miles over two days in sub 15 deg F weather in Minneapolis. The weather was nice and sunny, with little wind… I was incredibly fortunate for that weather. I had to put on 3 layers both on the top and the bottom, and run at a faster clip to maintain a higher heartbeat. More activity = more warmth. It wasn't ideal, for I prefer much slower paces for my training runs, but I got out and got it done. I got to know the neighborhoods around Chanhassen really well in the process. ⠀ ⠀ My idol @sagecanaday has said he is an #anysurfaceanydistance runner. So today was cardio again ⚡️ . At the moment I’m only doing treadmill running because the swedish weather this time of year isn’t optimal. But the weather isn’t an excuse for not running! . Started this workout with some slow walking at first and picking up the pace every minute until I was jogging which took about 7 minutes. Continued the jog for two minutes and then walked the last minute before the first run. I ran about 30s/km faster than my 10km pace and on the rest/walking parts I cut pace down to half of that. . Happy Sunday! Or Saturday 2.0 if you have a long weekend like we do 😉 . Got my arms, abs and cardio workout done today and I can feel myself getting stronger after every workout. Especially my biceps, I used to struggle with curling 10lbs dumbbells and now I’m up to 15lbs dumbbells 🙌🏼 plus extra cardio is always good but I love it as a finisher to loosen up my body after a heavy weight based workout. Stick a fork in me because I am DONE! This run started out as me hoping for 8 miles, but hope doesn’t get you far so then I just focused on one mile at a time. Next thing I knew, I hit double digits. At that point, I just sucked it up to finish a #halfmarathon. Now I can’t decide if I want to eat everything in sight or take a nap. 😜😂

This is definitely NOT my good side, but it's honest... And with my weight loss and wellness journey I want to be completely honest... Especially with myself. . . But it's not easy to look at or to admit what has happened to my body between 2015-2017, it's not easy to admit that I allowed myself to go to a very sad and dark place where I didn't like myself much. . . I want to cringe while I watch my backside during the deadlifts, I want to hit the delete button so badly while I watch my jiggly bottom while running.... But instead I edited the video and I'm sharing it here, with you all and with future me to look back on, to learn from and to be able to say to myself "that's my girl, look how far you've come! I'm proud of you!!!" . . One last note: Body image is important and accepting your body is important, but pls pls pls don't "accept it" to the point where you are willing to live with an unhealthy uncared for body! My face when they say: - Don’t eat carbs after 6 pm or you’ll get fat. - Muscles will turn into body fat when you stop training. - Carbs make you FAT. - Do high reps for shredding “toning”. - Squats are bad for your knees. - Knees shouldn’t pass the toes when squatting. - Lifting belt is a must to protect your back. - Women shouldn’t lift weights because they’ll look bulky. - No pain no gain. - Pizza and burgers are “Un-Healthy” (any kind of food labeling is stupid TBH) - Eating “UnHealthy” food will make you fat. - Eating “Healthy/Clean” will not make you fat.
