GIVING OUR HOPES AND WISHES FLIGHT in PINGXI! Despite the foul weather, we motored to the village of Pingxi to see and experience first hand the releasing of flame-propelled lanterns. Pingxi is the only “legal” place in Taiwan where one can do it at any time of the year since it is uniquely situated on a rainy mountainous area with steady wind patterns to sort of safely handle these floating fireballs.
After we wrote down our wishes on a huge lantern (we chose the color red for “good health”), the vendor had us stand by the railroad tracks then set its heart of joss paper on fire. As we watched the lantern fly away and disappear into the skies, we said a little prayer ang gave each other a high-five for having crossed out one more activity from our list of travel must-dos! #wanderlust#travelbug#asiatravels#taiwan#pingxi#traveladdict#travelphotography#lantern

Hello from Lake Rotoiti 🤗
@emma_steedman and I left the sunny shores of the Abel Tasman National park to visit this iconic lake close to Nelson before heading back to Auckland a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the clouds were closing in while we were on our drive down there 💨 But regardless of the missing sun, the stunning views were worth the trip and the clouds kind of add something mystical to the whole mountain-lake-atmosphere if you ask me 😉💙 #travelhermagic
Cold, snowy nights at #LakeLouise are great for skiing, but means we can’t have our windows cracked as much as we need to eliminate #condensation. Our @propex heater keeps us warm and toasty through the night, but we’re still struggling with ice and condensation in the mornings.
We have some plans to try to combat this issue, and will update once we find the solution - in the meantime, #vanlifers- how do you deal with condensation in the winter?? ❄️❄️❄️
