I remember how stuck I felt. Like I’d never see success in weight loss because I never stuck anything out long enough to see results. Working out was HARD and I believed I just didn’t have the “athletic body type” that was necessary to be able to workout well (btw, that’s not actually a thing 🙄). Sticking to a diet was IMPOSSIBLE because even though I wasn’t picky and enjoyed vegetables, I enjoyed baked ziti and Chinese takeout WAY more. They gave me a feeling of comfort that I wasn’t able to find in anything else—but also a feeling of guilt that left me feeling helpless, unworthy of success and like I was the only person in the world who couldn’t stop eating if she tried. Have you ever eaten dinner at the drive thru and then gone home, pretended you didn’t eat and sat down to eat again with your family? I have. Never because I was actually still hungry, but because I couldn’t say no to food. It was a problem that I didn’t know how to fix. I decided to give online accountability groups a shot. I figured it would be just another failure in my long list of attempts to get healthy (Weight Watchers, Planet Fitness, MyFitnessPal, The Cookie Diet—I kid you not 🤦🏼‍♀️) but somehow, amazingly...it stuck. I wasn’t expected to be perfect, all I had to do was promise to be a little better than yesterday, every day. If that meant 10 minutes of working out instead of 0 and cutting out soda before making any other food changes, that’s what it meant. And slowly, over time, I lost 70 pounds and have built my mind + body to the healthiest state they’ve ever been in. real life, real talk?  sundays are crazy around here with meal prep and getting organized, but honestly every day is crazy.  there are dirty dishes in the sink, laundry that needs to be put away, floors that need to be cleaned.  ALL THE THINGS. but thats okay. life is imperfect and accepting that has done wonders for quieting my mind when i decide to devote more time to improving me over keeping the house perfect.  no one is perfect.  i don't trust anyone who claims to have it all together 😹

What a wonderful afternoon spent with some of my coworkers out in the Niagara Peninsula! A little wine tasting (very little as I was driving!) followed by a wonderful brunch at a really cute winery. • We could not have asked for a more gorgeous day, 10 degrees & sunny! It makes me crave spring so bad but I know it is too soon to get out in the garden. In the meantime I will take these pockets of gorgeous days!!

Just pulled out SEVERAL other items from my giveaway pile 😲🤙🏼Feeling AMAZING. Since I’ve incorporated more consistent strength training I think most of my focus here on out will be my body fat % since the scales moving a wee bit slower-ish. It’s more important and a more accurate health measurement anyways! This morning I was at 30% and 141lbs (height is 5’4). We use the Fitbit scale and so far it’s been pretty consistent in measuring bf. My next goal is 25% 💪🏼 My goals for this week are to make it to the gym, continue adding in some short runs, SPRINTS because they’re my fave 🤗 and heavier squats. Oh, and use less assisted weight on the pull ups. OH and drink lots of water and as always, less cheese 😆 Writing this out now for accountability 😂 WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE WEEK?! . I’m still recovering from a day at the beach yesterday and just so tired today! These are the days that I get so tempted to go back to my old eating habits. To grab a bag of potato chips. Do you guys recognize where I am? Lol probably not. New view right ? Lol I got myself a new gym memebership to a new gym. Basically I have 3 memberships but going to cancel one very soon! I was a little iffy in switching gyms. Hate new environments especially when you’re so comfortable with the old but I know that switching gyms is going to be good for me. Probably at a new gym it will get me better results. Today I’ve been just trying out machines and equipment I haven’t used before. IF, Intermittent Fasting or Cleansing is a designated amount or time you go from fasting to eating. The 'normal' IF schedule is 16 hrs of fasting and 8 hrs of eating. For instance, let's say your last meal is at 7pm. You would not eat again until the next day at 11am and your eating window would be until 7pm that night. In order for the cleansing process to be successful, there must be a fasting period of at least 14 hours and no longer than 48 hours. So why do people intermittent fast? When the body is allowed a rest from digestion we allow our bodies to used stored fat as fuel. We also reset our metabolism to work more efficiently and and pull toxins out of our cells. IF isn't a solution just for fat loss but it helps our body reduce cravings, have more energy and better brain function. I have IF daily and weekly for a little over a year now for multiple reasons. It fits very well with my schedule and my energy levels felt like they were doubled. IF isn't for everyone and it isn't cookie cutter. The windows can be adjusted, the days you actually do practice IF can vary. You have to do what works best for YOU. As I have been doing it for about a year, my body isn't responding to it as I would like so now it is time to switch it up!
