Common question when you tell people you're going tiny: "Where are you going to put your (enter things here)?" I think it's important to plan for this in the beginning. I see a lot of designs and wonder myself, "where are you putting the...?" We've made a pretty conscious choice with our design to include storage space for all the things you need but don't necessarily want out in view. Our staircase is a prime example of what #efficient#design can do for you. In this case, almost every step is a closed storage compartment. You could even make one that ugly junk drawer that we ALL have somewhere, and the contents don't have to be visible. What's not shown in this drawing is the door concealing the tall shelves, or the fact that the storage under the 5th stair goes to the floor so we can store taller items like a broom, a mop, or even a cordless vacuum inside and not have it waste valuable living space.
Living tiny is going to be a commitment and a lifestyle change for sure, but that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice everything!

And the dominoes continue to fall. 😂😂 On the left is our current countertops. There's nothing wrong with them. Except, I've painted every inch of the trailer and the color pallet no longer has brown or tan in it. So, the counter doesn't go. At all. We've been trying to decide on a simple, cheap way to remedy this since the whole idea behind the trailer is to save money. We had a few solutions. I purchased everything to spray paint them with Rust-oleum Stone in black granite. Then we were going to seal it with a thick, glossy coat of sealant. Lastnight we realized we can't do that without the sealant flowing over into the stovetop since there's zero space to put a tape barrier and we can't figure out how to take it out.
Now, I get to thank all of your Gorgeous renovation ideas I've seen. 😁I sent my husband on a 2.5 hour journey (each way)to Ikea for some beautiful butcher block countertop! (On the right) 😍😍😍 Naturally, this led to a new sink too. 😂👍🏻 I want to say I'm disappointed the cheap solution didn't work but I'm pretty thrilled I get the kitchen counter/sink/faucet I've always wanted! ❤️ My hubby is a trooper for making the drive and agreeing to completely replace the countertop! I'm a lucky lady! ❤️ <2 weeks until move in!!! 👏🏻 #rv<#rvr#rvrenoon #rvreno #rvlife#rvliving#rvlivingwithkids#camperlife#trailerliving#tra#traveltrailerlife #traveltrailerlife #homeiswhereyouparkit#tinyliving#tin#tinyhouseon #rv #tinyhouse #tinyhouseonwheels#livesimply#homeonwheels#1stepforward2stepsback

This 8’ x 16’ January 2018 Workshop home is getting all cleaned up and ready for pictures before heading out to Virginia at the end of the week!
Her name is Sickly Bernice, and she's not much, but I constructed her with my own hands (with help from my grandmother). It took about 3 weeks, I ran into a ton of problems along the way, and there's still a few things I want to add. The whole thing was an experience I wouldn't change though. Special shoutout to my grandparents, who gifted me new tires for christmas, and let me use their garage and many many power tools. #van#vanlifee #vanlife #wanderlust#wherewillwegonext#homeiswhereyouparkit#tinyhouseonwheels
This is the first project that we’ve done that won’t need all new interior skins. We’re keeping the original skins, cleaning them, reinstalling them, and painting them. If you’ve ever taken on the task of fabricating new interior skins, or you’ve watched us spend days doing it, you’ll get why we’re feeling pretty excited about the condition of these skins! 🙌🏼 hah

Continuing our convo from earlier: A huge debate in the tiny living movement now is whether this movement is entirely about downsizing our financial obligations or can you justify paying a premium (over $100k) for a tiny home built with superior quality products?? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! Would love for us all to have an open discussion! 🤓
