Monday - may your coffee kick in before reality does!!
I started my Monday with a back and bi’s session at the gym 💪🏻 My first gym session of the year and god it felt good to be back! Yes, I realise it’s nearly the end of January and I am only just getting myself to the gym now but I haven’t been sitting on my bum at home doing nothing!! 🙅🏻♀️ Over the past few weeks I have been working really hard on my joint mobility (hello tight traps and hip flexors), stretching and rolling out my muscles daily and I am already starting to notice a difference! Since working full time with a desk job and not keeping up with stretching I noticed my body was uncomfortably tight and it was effecting my lifts. So I wanted to get on top of a few of those issues before I went back.
Another thing I am working hard on this year is not letting my anxiety get the better of me! Last year I struggled to go to the gym on my own and I let that hinder my progress. This year I am all about pushing my own personal boundaries and taking leaps and bounds out of my comfort zone. The best thing I have done so far to get over that niggling feeling of anxiety is to ‘just do it’ and go to the gym. Once I am there I chuck on some beats, go into my own little world and I’m fine! The hardest part is getting there but if you get up and just go, ignoring the anxiety, it goes and you finish your workout feeling fantastic!!

Rest days are just as important as workdays! I’m enjoying my rest day. How bout you? Got some extra sleep & stretching in. Did some sightseeing on the Oregon Coast (see my stories for pics) & got to visit a family member haven’t seen in too long! Ready for the week ahead. 🙌
