Let’s do this. #thefoodielibra gym is starting to take shape. Now that my little boy is growing up and number 2 is looking increasingly unlikely, it’s time to use my 3 day weekends to better advantage and try and gain some balance other than food in my life. It’s also a great way for the husband and I to spend evenings together - living rurally, long commutes and needing to be home with our child means it’s hard to exercise with one another - but we are aiming to flip that this year and achieve a better work life balance too. .
No rest for the wicked! We managed to squeeze in one last bit of physio this morning - walking with a PPAM Aid - which is effectively a leg frame with a big balloon inside to aid with weight bearing after an amputation. It felt very odd to put trust in weight bearing again after such a long period of immobility, and we only tried a few steps, but it was a teeny tiny glimpse into what it may feel like when I have a prosthesis fitted. Here I am with the lovely Gwen making sure I don’t fall over!
I'm glad the no hair touching the bar rule has been scrapped because that right there is an actual bird's nest 🐦 this time last year I could barely do these for singles so I should probably acknowledge I have progressed somewhat, even if it doesn't feel like it... Although I had a decent deadlift in my short stint as a powerlifter, my squat was always majorly lagging behind because I became a literal pancake with a bar on my back. Doing ten million front squats has got me from a grindy max of 50 back in late 2016 (when my deadlift was 137.5) to somewhere around 100, which is aite I suppose.
