Dylan Monroe, a popular fixture in New York’s queer nightlife scene has died, according to performer Kayvon Zand, a close friend.
Gustavo Monroy/Next Magazine “It is with a heavy heart I share the news that our Dylan Monroe has passed. Jessica and I will let everyone know about a memorial in her honor for all of her NY family.” The cause of death is not clear, though Monroe had posted on Facebook about having a fever and going to the hospital. “To say this is “my loss” is truly an understatement,” Zand wrote on Instagram. “Dylan has touched so many lives and is loved by all of us. I am sorry I haven’t answered the texts, calls and messages, however it is comforting to know how loved she is and always will be.” Monroe, 26, was known for her statuesque beauty and eye-catching looks, often on view at Susanne Bartsch’s On Top party at Le Bain. She had worked as model both before and after transitioning.
Drag Race Season 3 winner Raja posted condolences on Instagram.
