Yayyy my momma is 70 today!!!! This woman right here is a superwoman. She taught me resilience. Growing up, I watched her pour herself out for her children. My dad was nineteen years older, so by the time he was of retirement age, this woman was in her prime The task of fending for the family fell on her shoulders and she carried it with grace. She did two regular jobs. She would close from one and go resume at the other. On the side, she had several small businesses, all just to make ends meet. She was up at 4am every day and out by 5:30am. She denied herself of all luxury just so she could meet our needs. New clothes, jewelry, those were luxury for my mother. She couldn't spare the penny. She gave and gave of herself until there was nothing left to give. And through it all, she held her head high, never breaking. I was shocked when one day she couldn't hold back the tears as I laid on a hospital bed. I never thought my mum could be soft, let alone cry. Lol. I saw my mum as a strong woman and she was indeed that and more. She seemed to have more than two hands. She handled so much. She was my first role model, my superwoman.
Today I celebrate this woman at 70. My siblings and I rise to call you blessed. I love you more than words could say. You are my superstar! I pray that you have many many many many many many.... more years in good health, peace and joy in Jesus name.
Happy birthday momma!
