▶️I've had Duffalo bar paused bench as one of my variations for the past 3 weeks it has come a long way; today I had another massive volume PB, I don't think I have ever done so much volume at this weight even on a power bar so I'm very happy with how it felt and moved

Thanks for the spots and lift offs @wakefield5523 and @cheef__teef 💪
Week 3 Day 1 - Was excited af to use my @inz@r_official 13mm belt which came in the mail this morning from @loadedlifting 👊💪🙌😁, definetly made this massive front squat volume PB feel comfy 💪

Set 5 of 5×7 @ 80kg bench. Felt average but looks alright I guess ☺
➡️Hook Grip Sumo Paused Deadlifts
▶️4x5 @ 170kg (Video)✔
➡️Hook grip is now in my program and it's feeling awesome positioning also feels much better, my tolerance to it is increasing and these sets felt comfy 👊🙌💪😁
➡️Week 2 Day One of my new program - Loving all the volume and variations, looking forward to accumulating more work over the weeks to come 💪🙌😁

Vid 2: max set @ 87.5kg close grip Spoto press (8 reps)
Vid 3: set 4 of 4×8 @ 60kg incline bench
Thanks @greg.smith60 for the liftoff and spot on the max set for close grip Spotos. Last rep was pretty ugly and not paused but glad to finish it at least.
YooooOOooOoo!!! This here is a MASSIVE #nsv for me. My very first unassisted chin up. All me! Oh my goodness! I had the biggest rush when I pulled myself up above the bar. Like WHAAAAT?! 3 years ago I couldn't do a single push up. Now I can pull my freakin hanging bodyweight up. I am legit SHOOKETH! When was I able to do this? Like I thought I wouldn't be able to do these unless I was super skinny or super jacked. But my fluffy ass just pulled a chin up. I'm so dang happy hahah. I haven't had a rush like this since the first time I deadlifted in the 200s (kilos). Now I gotta work on getting 10 chin ups in a row by the end of the year as challenged by the homie @formallychubbyhubby . Oh and I also got to thank @minus121 for telling me yesterday "what? How can you not do a chin, look at you! You can totally do a chin up". If she didn't say that, I probably wouldn't have attempted this haha. Thanks Sarah! Oh and I did squats and bench today which is cool too I guess 💁🏽 #fitfam#weightlossjourney#nonscalevictory#stronggeelong#geelong#fattofit#happy#kiwi#chinup#teambeast_underneath#teamlosing#teampuropositive
Typically my style of lifting was tyres, cars or overhead but today for something different and to fatten out the calendar I competed in my first (external) powerlifting meet finishing with a 555kg total.
Hitting a new squat PB of 220kg thanks to Steve Power for cranking the heck out of the wraps, 125kg Bench and finishing with a 210kg Sumo deadlift.
Keeping with @strongbiz program #TRUSTTHESYSTEM works.
Following weeks of banter around the gym competing alongside Jarrod Simms, Lachlan, Aaron Leeson, Emma Winwood and Erin Lazarus was amazing as we all helped each other out and to keep the STRONG in Strong Geelong with everyone putting up a solid day.
Always appreciative to have all the #stronggeelong spectators and GymFam that came down to visit, film, yell, wrap, handout red frogs, handout the bench press and generally be awesome.
Congrats to the #stronggeelong guys and girls who competed today. I would have taken my hoodie off to show off my guns like the rest, (which @wakefield5523 noted they are growing!), but the #doms has set in after yesterday"s training session on the #bench. Not looking forward to how I feel tomorrow. Today was awesome seeing people doing their first comp and absolutely nailing it. #powerlifting#gym#powerliftingmotivation
Vid 1: Set 3 of 3×3 @@ 95kg comp bench
Vid 2: Max set (6) @ 105kg close grip slingshot touch n go bench
Thought I had one more on the slingshot max set but got it too far out in front.
Thanks @payjeyflex and Marek for the spots ☺
First time doing sumo block pulls tonight and mannnn that was easier than I had anticipated 😂 Also finding it a lot easier to pull sumo with some aggression and just lift the damn thing as opposed to taking my time and overthinking things. I suppose I feel the same way with conventional stance 🤷🏽. But is easier really a good thing doe? 🤔 We shall see in the coming weeks. This stance is fun. I don't care if it's called the cheater stance, it makes me look like Luffy's second gear from One Piece. P.s If One Piece is your thing, I like you. You're my people 😘
Was watching my squat videos from today. I record at last one of my sets every session for me to analyze. Form check, depth check, progress check etc. Today's session I noticed my lack of gut. I gotta say, looking at the flatness of my tummy made me excited 😁. I'm leaning out! This is definitely the year where I'll hit my goal! I can feel it! Finally got my fire back 🔥. I'm consistent in the gym 🏋🏽. Consistent in the kitchen and have been avoiding fast food as if it were the black plague. Water on point 💦. Honestly I feel unstoppable! The judges from the powerlifting comp I recently competed in won't even recognise me next time I show up on the platform in August 😎. LETS GO!! 🍗 (maybe I should do more cardio lol 🤔)
Back on a program again after a week of driving myself crazy after Summer classic and it feels great to be working towards something again. Nine weeks until Vic states 🤷♂️
Deadlifts today ⬇️
➡️ Definitely didn't move the best today, but I've overcome the struggles I was having last comp prep.
• Strong Saturday •
Go HEAVY.* *but don't deviate from the program. 😉
Went into the gym today without a program. My next training block begins next Monday so today I thought I'd steal @beast_underneath deadlift training session for the day. Where I do 65% of my 1rm which is 142.5 kg (314 lbs) for 4 sets at 8 reps. Yo... dis some cardio ish right there 😥 Which is good because my next training block will be just like this. Light weights with high reps. Volume phrase is about to start. Prepping for my next competition in August! 7 months of training! In August I'm going to be leaner. Meaner and stronger than ever! Lets get it!

It was awesome to be a part of the @stronggeelong team and a big thank you to @strongbiz for programming and help on the day 💪
Thank you to the aussie summer too, there's nothing I love more than the 40 degree days 😭

So......I competed 2 days ago but I wanted to have a play around with hook grip I've never done it before but I really like the position it puts you in so 200kg felt awesome lol so I kind of went heavier..lol
▶️200kg (Video 1)✔
▶️220kg (Video 2)✔
▶️240kg (Video 3) ❌ I didnt get this but this would have been 5kg more than I pulled mixed grip on Saturday so there definetly feels like theres potential lol
➡️Happy with how hook grip felt for my first go lol hahaha a lot of work needs to be done if I want to use it though 💪🙌😁
Suppose I'm a bit late in posting but yesterday I did my first powerlifting meet 🙌🎉 Had a pretty rocky start to the day, nerves kicked in almost instantly but I managed to pull through and I'm happy with my efforts for my first time. Thanks to @strongbiz for programming me and helping me throughout honestly could not have done it without such great help.
175kg (1st video) ⚪⚪⚪
130kg (2nd video) ⚪⚪⚪
200kg (3rd video) ⚪⚪⚪
I took my failed attempts really hard at the time but it's all part of the process. A 505kg total for my first meet, +10kg PB on both my bench press and deadlift, also a lot more knowledge and goals to take into the next one isn't something to do complaining about. Glad I finally stepped out of my comfort zone 😊 and a thanks to @wakefield5523 for filming.
First comp ever and I am very happy with my performance especially since I was battling nerves and the heat. For those unfamiliar with powerlifting meets, you get 9 attempts, 3 per lift. I got 8 out of my 9 attempts. I decided to go big or go home on my last bench attempt but it wasn't happening today. Squats and Deads felt amazing today. Definitely had more power in them but at the end if the day its all about having fun. I'll be back on the platform again for sure! I gotta do a couple thank yous! I gotta thank my lovely ig fitfam for the support and the overwhelming amount of "good lucks" I received from you guys today. You guysssss ❤ I also gotta thank @wakefield5523 again for his camera work and support during not only my lifts but the rest of the #stronggeelong crew's lifts. What a legend! I obviously couldn't take any footage myself because you know... I was competing and stuff lol. What a day!
Squat 200 kg / 440.9 lbs, Bench 97.5 kg / 214.9 lbs, Deads 210 kg / 462.9 lbs
Total 507.5 kg / 1118.8 lbs
