Marking the one year anniversary of Scott Pruitt taking over the EPA, we look at how he is Making America Toxic Again. As head of EPA, Pruitt is supposed to protect the environment. Unfortunately, God has other plans for him. Along with Rebecca Leber's profile of Pruitt, list of Pruitt's systematic attacks on enivornmental protections. And, as awful as Pruitt is, he may not be the worst EPA chief! We revisit the history of Anne Gorusch's time running the agency. Read it at motherjones.com or in the March/April issue – on newsstands soon. What do the seasons mean to you? If you asked Scott Pruitt to explain seasonality would he be able to? I mean, I’m sure he could tell you leaves fall in the autumn, snow falls in winter, and spring rain brings flowers and summer, but would that be the extent of it? Would he understand the significance of changing meteorological patterns (I have been calling it Febru-summer) What about something concrete and in-your-face like Corallorhiza emerging in early January? I dream of a day where the people in charge of protecting our environment are immersed and in love with it just as we are.
EPA Settles Syngenta Hawaii Pesticide Claim For Pennies On The Dollar: Scott Pruitt’s GMO & agrichemical industry-friendly EPA has let Syngenta off the hook with a civil penalty of $150,000 instead of $4.8 million, as Syngenta should have paid. The corporation had improperly exposed workers in Kauai, Hawaii to the dangerous and toxic pesticide chlorpyrifos in 2016 and 2017. This is becoming a recurring pattern with Pruitt. Pruitt prefers to protect corporate profits over human safety and health. Ban Chlorpyrifos. Fire Scott Pruitt.

#scottpruitt#embroideredprayers#gtfoh#embroidery#redthread#evilbe Spirit of our Mother Earth, I pray to you to make him denounce the selfishness and destruction caused by the fossil fuel and chemical industry, the de-emphasis of climate change regulations and research, and the deregulation of environmental protections in the name of land ownership and profit. Please protect the ban on offshore oil and gas drilling, the Clean Power Plan rule, control on methane emissions, the Clean Air Act, the Endangered Species Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the Waters of the United States rule. Please cleanse him with the power of your spirit. Amen.
How do I know the current admin is for big oil? Well #scottpruitt said this crazy shit. "I think there's assumptions made that because the climate is warming, that that necessarily is a bad thing. Do we really know what the ideal surface temperature should be in the year 2100? In the year 2018? I mean it's fairly arrogant for us to think that we know exactly what it should be in 2100.". WHAT THE ACTUAL FRAK! #climatechange#environment#epa#donaldtrump#RESIST#earth
Today I read our pal Scott Pruitt of the EPA admitted that global warming exists, and humans may be contributing to its escalation but maybe not. He does think it can be of benefit to mankind, which only proves that feigning ignorance is the next active strategy of our current regime. This is a photo of my walk earlier today, which was another gorgeous day of sun and 50 degrees. Would be a good thing, except that I live in a ski town at 6,500’ elevation. As a family that lives in a mountain community dependent on snowfall, whose heart is tied to the outdoors, as well as one that depends on it for our livelihood, I fail to see how this change in our climate would be ‘of benefit to mankind’. #ActOnClimate#OptOutside#scottpruitt#turd
In an interview on Tuesday, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt said a warming planet could ultimately help humans "flourish." Pruitt has also famously denied that CO2 was a primary driver of climate change shortly after taking office last March and has consistently questioned climate science. This interview is the clearest example of him using climate deniers' talking points.⠀

(Climate Change News) - The European Commission (EC) has backed French calls to make trade deals with the world’s second biggest economy contingent on membership of the Paris climate agreement.
French foreign affairs minister Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne told his own parliament on Thursday that if the US thought it could leave the Paris deal and still strike a trade deal with Europe: “The US knows what to expect.” He called on the EU to make a new trade policy: “No Paris Agreement, no trade agreement”.
On Friday, a commission trade spokesperson told Climate Home News that all EU trade deals contained a chapter on sustainability: “Since the deal we concluded last year with Japan, this chapter contains an explicit reference to the ratification and actual implementation of the Paris climate deal.
“This point is a priority for the EU and it would be difficult to imagine concluding an important trade deal without an ambitious chapter on trade and sustainable development attached to it.”
My postcard pair in the show up now "Correspondencia Correspondence" at @ellobi & @tal@tallermalaquita in Puerto Rico's capital. And scenes from the opening from the beautiful exhibition a few nights ago by El Lobi's Vanessa Hernandez (furthest right in final image). The top card is one I made after the Democratic senator from North Dakota voted for #scottpruitt to be the head of the EPA early last year. I was going to send it to her but thought it a waste. The bottom is a Saatchi Gallery giftshop postcard of a @sarahmorris001 painting from 1996.
Proceeds from my postcard set will go to @el_lobi_ & @tallermalaquita art spaces: DM if you're interested. #puertorico#seguimos
It’s safe to say I don’t like Scott Pruitt, who, before becoming the Head of the EPA, sued the EPA over a dozen times. He doesn’t believe in global warming and believes coal is a “clean fuel.” It matters not that fossil fuels aren’t sustainable. Government is bailing out dead industries. Industries that for years should have been investing in Research & Development, just like tech industries do. He’s also rolling back policies designed to keep our air and water clean. Trump wants to allow offshore drilling on up to 90% of our coastline. Kansas now has more earthquakes than California, although it is no where near a fault line. Why? Because of fracking. When will govt and polluting industries realize that we cannot breathe or eat money? #EPA#protecttheearth#protecttheenvironment#industrial interests over public safety/health #conflictofinterest#solarpower#windpower#solarenergy#windenergy#scottpruitt#firescottpruitt
