My best friend is the best listener, overflowing with composure. I have never seen someone in the eye for this long, but this one makes my heart sing a song. With me, it comes along, everywhere, as if asking me to own it, layer by layer. I look at it, and every cell in my body smiles, as though it sends energy from two hundred and thirty eight thousand miles. It is clever, for it reveals, never, how it adjusts its brightness according to my mood. Says that’ll be a mystery, forever. Just like it moves the sea, it moves me. Just like a cup of tea, It soothes me. - “My Moon” - D. Nagdeo #risingabove#healingandharmony#moonchild#toanotherdayandthedawnstar#stopbullying#internationalbullyingpreventionday#sideprofileselfie

Featured in this week’s issue: staff member Pamela Ononiwu teamed up with her daughter, Joy, to create a children’s book about friendship after Joy was approached by a classmate with a racially insensitive comment. Her book, “My Best Friend” is available on Amazon now. #RisingAbove#MyBestFriend
Today was my first day in my new manager position. It was also a nice day of reflection. Reflecting back on how far I came with just Jacob and I. I went from straight out of the Navy at 23, going through a nasty divorce, struggling as a single mom. I was going to school full time, working two jobs and literally going without food to ensure my monkey was well fed and taken care. So many sleepless nights that led me into crying myself to sleep. Wondering if this was all worth it. I cried on the phone to my parents so many times I lost count. They refused to let me move back home because ever since I was 4 years old (FOUR!!!) I had wanted to live in San Diego. Now I have the spouse (to be) that I’ve always wanted, the greatest 2 kids I could’ve asked for, a new leadership role at work!!!! All the hard times were worth copious amounts of blessings that are coming our way. I am so thankful for the beautiful friends I have that were there for me and helped me whenever I would fall.
Check out the beautiful book cover for RISING ABOVE launching tomorrow Feb 21st. RISING ABOVE is an anthology of international entrepreneurs sharing their struggles on the road to success. RISING ABOVE will be my 2nd book released through Amazon for a special launch day price of only .99 cents. I would appreciate your support in helping to make this book become a Best Seller. Thank you!
❤️Long post alert... but I hope you agree that it is worth the read...
In a couple weeks (actually on my 38th birthday), I will celebrate my 1 year “coachiversary”. It’s so hard for me to describe how that makes me feel in just a few sentences... but I hope over the past several months, I was able to show you the impact it’s had on me and my family.
Health... to be in the best shape of my life. And not just wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans, but HOW I feel when I wear them. My family beating all the diseases that are genetic. Dropping medications, because we medicate with proper nutrition instead. .
Financially... being able to pay MY bills. Sending that final student loan bill a year early. Shopping for Christmas presents, or buying that one item that I would have never bought before because it was “just too much”.
PURPOSE... that feeling I get every single morning when I read messages from the women whose lives are changing. To know that what I am doing, is making an IMPACT on others and inspiring them to dream bigger. They do not need to be STUCK... stuck a certain size, a certain salary, or a certain mindset. This is what brings tears to my eyes and makes me realize it’s my “why”)
One year. That’s it. Changed how I look at everything... I see a bright future. I am just scratching the surface ❤️
