Knowing how serious allergies are for poeple and how difficult it can be, we have taken the decision to remove all nut oils from our products.
Everything on the new website has been reformulated to remove any nut oils and we are working towards offering other ranges with further allergens removed.
We compltely stand by our ethics and whilst others may have fancier products, fancier packaging or make fancier claims, we do not. Put simply, we stand by what we believe in - our ethics are our cornerstone.
Fresh milk delivery this morning. We’re trying milk delivered by the milkman for a few weeks to see how we get on, as part of our plan to try to reduce our plastic and non-recyclable waste. This was on the doorstep before 7 am, so that’s a good start.
#coveredbuttons#reducewaste#upholstrerylife
When you look at companies or products claiming to be sustainable or eco-friendly it’s important to do your research in order to understand their claim and if what they are asserting or professing to be eco or sustainable is actually true and then quantify that claim. There are so many angles, approaches or opinions about what is eco or sustainable. In my opinion the best materials are natural fibers, because they will biodegrade at the end of their lives, becoming part of the earth again, from where they came. However not all natural fibers are made the same. Take conventionally grown cotton vs organic cotton. Conventional cotton, which is often from genetically modified seeds, uses pesticides and insecticides which harm not only the farmland, soil and water supply in the surrounding area, but also the people who farm the crops and the people in the surrounding community. Reports of birth defects, cancer, and severe developmental issues are commonplace. And that’s just to grow the cotton. To make the cotton into yarn and fabric from a cotton boll takes thousands of liters of water. So. If you value the Earth and Its water, soil and people you might want to consider organic cotton. But. That is if you are buying garments or textile based products that are made from NEW fabric. There is already so much fabric, material and garments in existence in the world - do we really need to make SO MUCH MORE instead of using what we have already? Shopping 2nd hand, used or pre-loved helps to alleviate the planet’s pollution and waste problems, or at least stalls them. Existing materials have already gone through the processing stage where the yarns (natural and synthetic) are spun into fabric, dyed, and finished. I believe in using natural fibers whenever possible, but I also believe in reducing waste and using what we have available. Which is why I use primarily vintage materials and repurpose them into pillowcases and tote bags. The pillow inserts I use are made from scrap material (brand new material that is salvaged from factories which diverts this “waste” from a landfill). Often these materials are of unknown fiber contents. Continued in comments…
So because I am going back to Europe this year (omg!) and in the interests of reducing landfill, this year I have vowed to buy my clothes from op shops as much as possible. I would normally just not buy clothes and make do, but the thing is, I've lost nearly 12kg in the past 6 months and still losing (yippee) so I keep having to take bags of clothes to the op shop! (Awesome). Today's score was the cutest @thefifthlabel skirt (new with tag), rusty jeans, brand new never worn wedges and a pair of nine west heels for work (not pictured). All this for $16 and going to a good cause helping those in need. Love it all. You can find some fantastic stylish clothes at op shops, give it a go if you're not already! #opshop#skirt#secondhand#reducewaste#recycle#sustainable#savemoney#donatetocharity
This morning I popped into @petbarn to pick up some snacks for the girls. Super happy to spot this sign!
It’s so great to see more business taking on this initiative and taking steps to reduce waste. #banthebag

We've been naptime companions almost every day for the last 6ish months 💤😍
I don't know how much longer it will last but I am going up savor up every precious moment like this💗💗 In not too long I may be enjoying naptime with one of my boys on either side of me! 😁
It takes three to make a thing go right. Everyplace should have three and then we should reduce to two and get rid of the landfill one.

2018 is the year of consciousness. It's time to make thoughtful purchases. Swapping out common household items with eco friendly alternatives. Today I've upgraded to these bamboo and 100% biodegradable toothbrushes. They are very reasonably priced on Amazon if you are an online shopper like myself. I got a package of 8 for around $15. Keep your teeth clean and green 😀♻️🌎

Brought my tiffin to an Indian restaurant for lunch takeout to see if they would let me use my own container...after having plenty of awkward and straight-up upsetting experiences...it brought about a smile and laugh that they knew exactly what to do with it when I held it up 👍🏼👏🏼 and so I’ll forgive the foil for this experiment cuz naan is life 🙌🏼😜 Happy #Friyay 🥂
Nearly a trillion plastic bags are used every single year 🚮. What if I told you there’s a certain type of organism that EATS and DIGESTS this most common type of plastic? .

Make a statement with this Striped Asymmetrical design Chaos cropped jumper. Made from 100% Baumwolle cotton, this Armedangels Jumper looks and feels like wool.
100% Baumwolle (bio) is popular in Germany and Scandinavian countries, especially with people who are allergic to wool. This cotton is significantly stiffer than “normal” cotton, meaning your jumper will not loose shape!
Design on front and back for a truly bold and unique look.
Monchrome and dusty pastels are in this season, so pair this with our stunning MUD jeans
Meine kleine Sucht…. Gewürze...ich kaufe sie offen und fülle sie in diese schönen Gläser in meiner Gewurzschublade. Ja ich weiss, die Ettikette ist noch nicht Nachhaltig. |
My little addiction… spices… IBy them in bulk and fill them in this lovely glasses in my spice drawer. Yes I know the lables aren't sustainable yet.
