Being shredded isn't the only way of knowing what you are truly capable of. Sure it looks great and is pleasing to the eye...its a form of "art" that only few can appreciate and fully understand in depth what it takes to achieve this form. 😥 - For me personally...its not a look that I can maintain or hold on to for long periods of time. The hunger, cravings, restlessness and attitude that comes with being comp ready is something that not only I can't take for long periods of time...but also those close to me. - Learning to appreciate your body and love who you are throughout all your "phases" as I like to refer to them as is probably the most difficult thing to do. - Seeing noticeable changes physically can have dramatic effects on how we view ourselves...ie "I'm fat, my abs are gone, people are looking at me, I've ruined everything, im a failure" and so on. - I still go through this negative self talk and put myself down because I have set such a high standard for myself that anything less is a failure. But over these years of training and dieting I have slowly been able to accept who I am and what I am truly capable of. - If you are reading this...chances are you have either walked similar foot steps or are currently in the trenches finding your feet again. Well know this... you're not alone, you are not the first and you are certainly not the last.
