I’ve been asked numerous times, out of all the artists past and present, out of all the ones you’ll never get more music from due to the band splitting up, death etc what artists would I chose.
That is a fucking touch question! Pantera, type o negative, anal cunt whoever, the list is incredibly long, barely imaginable. But this ep always sticks out for me and unfortunately for me at least, it’s the only music they put out under the name southern isolation.
For those of you with no idea who they are it’s a project by Stephanie Opal Weinstein, then wife of the famous Phil Anselmo. This is not the sort of music you’d expect Philip to be involved with but on those few tracks he plays guitar and does vox.
Stephanie’s voice is unique, that term is thrown around far too generously as of current, it’s haunting, ethereal. It’s not just her natural talent your hearing, it’s her soul. I can’t really compare this to anything else because it’s so unique. Im forever sharing music and showing people different bands, I reluctantly share this because as selfish as it is, I want it for me only. The ep is 4 tracks but there’s actually 6out there, I recommend this ep to anybody that adores soulful, heartfelt passionate music.
