The pallof hold. An exercise I wish I'd known about before my training days. An excellent exercise for core stability. I have used a toner band here but you can also use a cable pulley machine, just make sure you don't set the resistance too high to compromise good form. -stand with feet parallel, hip width apart and hold the cable in front of your chest. -whilst maintaining this position; keeping your hips square and shoulders down extend your arms away from your chest. -I usually hold the position for up to 30 seconds each side. There are tonnes of variations of this exercise including presses, rotations and different stances. I will post a short video next week. ...HALF KNEELING PALLOF ISO HOLD Target: Obliques Why? The Internal and External Obliques spend as much time eliminating movement as they do creating it. It's their job and they're generally really good at it...but they can always be better! Just like the completely over-rated Sit Up, Weighted Lateral Bends are kind of stupid and kind of detrimental to your spinal health...9/10 people I see doing Lateral Bends do them poorly.
