Since I’m currently working on a potential project with an outdoors company, I figured I’d share one of my images from that project - a morning scene from atop Max Patch Bald on the Appalachian Trail, as I peered down over a sea of fog with a colorful sky overhead. That morning remains not only one of my most productive (and lucrative) sessions I’ve experienced, but it still holds as one of the most beloved experiences I’ve had since I became a photographer. Very few mornings have matched this one; yet still I hope more mornings like this are in store for the future. 😊
~ GAMEDAY!!! Your Purdue Boilermakers (23-5) will be taking on the Penn State Nittany Lions (19-9). Purdue at home will try to bounce back after a three game skid, while Penn State is feeling very hot as they beat Ohio State at home by more than 20 points. Vincent Edwards has been ruled out for he game with a sprained ankle. While the he is out the Boilermakers will be playing for Caleb Swanigan, who will be visiting tonight and getting his banner unveiled. Boiler up, Hammer down. ~ @purdue_bb@isc_pu@boilerathletics#boilerup#bounceback#beatpennstate#ourstate#purdueboilermakers
There is beauty in beginnings. There can be beauty in endings. And there’s a whole lot of beauty in-between. Sometimes it stops us in our tracks and sometimes we have to search it out...but never doubt it’s always there. ✨
Road Trip| the Historic Occoneechee Speedway in Hillsborough. Opened as one of two original Nascar tracks in 1949 and closed in 1968. One of the only dirt tracks remaining from the inaugural season. Awesome walking trail.
Cons ➖ of off-season beach trips: NOBODY updates their hours on Yelp/Google. Finding places open for food & libations has been a real struggle. 😭 Pros ➕ of off-season beach trips: the beaches are empty and oh so serene 🌊
Finally, the section of the Blue Ridge Parkway closest to my home (and frankly, my heart) has been opened. And I can’t wait to get back out there to see scenes like this at Woolyback Overlook (milepost 452). My favorite season is just around the corner! Big shoutout to @tnc_nc for a recent feature. Show them some love! #mysouthernliving#blueridgeparkway#optoutside
I made my way to the Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday for the first time since October; and it was only after I’d huffed and puffed my way to the top of Devil’s Courthouse that I realized how unprepared I was. I’d left my “number one” camera, my Nikon D3s, at home. Then I also realized that I’d left my trusty graduated ND filter in my car, along with the tripod mount for my lone backup camera, my totally ancient and obsolete Nikon D300. So this image taken in the direction of a distant Tanassee Bald was shot with my D300 and 80-200 lens at a slowish shutter speed, propped up on a stone barrier; no filters, no nothing. Just a hope that the image would turn out sharp, which it surprisingly did. Gotta love those old Nikons......
Come out to @bullcityoliveoil for our Valentine’s Hangover Pop-up. Love it or hate it... come on out and eat those feelings. 🤗 I’ll be there slinging whoopie from 12-4 with all these beautiful babes.
Swipe left for all the goodies I’ll have tomorrow. Swipe right for... jk lol... this isn’t that kind of app.
Photo bomb from my burrows tail courtesy of @thezensucculent. Also the 5th plant from Megan that I’ve kept alive and thriving. I think I finally harnessed my green thumb. 💪🌱
