Fountain pen update #2- In review, this is a Noodler’s Ahab Flex Nib fountain pen. First post using this pen showed lettering with the provided nib. The nib had slight flex and a little variation between thin/thick strokes. But not anywhere near the fine lines and broad strokes of a traditional calligraphy nib. So I was a tad disappointed.
2. Next post, I switched out the nib for a Brause Rose. Big improvement on the thin/thick lines but that nib was super flexible, a little too flexible for me. ✨
Today, I switched to the Nikki G nib. It took some tinkering (and an inky mess)to get the nib to fit on the feed properly (the part that carries the ink to the nib) and lots of effort to coax it back into the barrel. But all the fuss was worth it. I love how this nib works with the fountain pen. It’s not perfect but it works well. I can write the whole alphabet and a long quote. Best of all, no inking and re-inking. This could prove to be very handy 👍
Day 15 of #rockyourlettering with me and my besties @essy_creates@jeelethdesigns .
Hello hello ☺️ I have created this account so that one day, I will be able to look back on the progress that I have made right from the beginning. I have just started learning last week so please be nice 😣 I would love to get some advice, tips and constructive criticism too! I’ve just started, but I can already tell I’m going to struggle with flourishing 😅 Best moment of 2018 so far was when I received all my calligraphy supplies and could start writing 😜 #calligraphy#beginner#pearlex#practice#goodlucktome#nikkognib#obliquepen
