. QUIT trying to please others. QUIT overthinking things. QUIT doubting your abilities. QUIT being afraid of change. . So yeah!! I say these things passionately - BECAUSE these are the ways I lived for a very long time... and I wish someone had told me to quit!! But I think I was in the majority.. they were struggling with the same. 😳 . I REMEMBER, clear as day, taking that pic on the left. It was almost 12 years ago. I was on a trip in Canada with my sis and we had AN AMAZING TIME!!! I felt such freedom to just .. be me! I had gotten to escape briefly from a relationship I was in. A relationship where I LOST myself completely BECAUSE I tried so hard to please. . At that time, I was anxiety ridden and depressed. I was not myself. I had become what I thought my significant other wanted me to be. I became HIS personality. Which was 100% the TOTAL OPPOSITE of mine. There is nothing wrong with his personality — FOR HIM. But his personality was not the one that God deposited into me when He created me. . Trying to be someone you are not is THE WORST thing for you. . You cannot feel the peace nor freedom - because you are working every single day to live up to what you THINK you need to be doing, or saying.. and that is NOT serving you. BECAUSE that behavior does NOT come natural. It is learned/forced behavior and it goes against your natural God given personality traits. . Trying to be that which I wasn’t caused me to doubt myself, overthink EVERYTHING and be afraid of everything that was outside of the comfort zone I had made for myself and stayed in. . So - here you go! Give yourself permission to quit. Quitting is not always a bad thing!!💕☺️ #transformationtuesday

#TraumaTip Tuesday || PENDULATION || . In the process of recovering from developmental trauma or traumatic stress, we must first learn to feel safe in our bodies. Then we can lean into the edge of pain/fear/discomfort and know we have a safe container to return to. . Then the process is to pendulate back and forth between safety and discomfort. Accessing sensations and traumatic memories. Gently. Little by little. Always returning to safety. So that we no longer have to fear our own sensations or feelings. So that we can reclaim ownership of our bodies, and reclaim our wholeness. . It is not avoidance, but rather the return, both to discomfort and to safety that heals us.

What a fantastic book !! @officialdrjoedispenza 😊 This is the second time I have heard the story about Jim Carrey and the affirmations he recited and believed when he was a broke actor in Hollywood. How years before landing any lucrative film roles he had made out a cheque to himself for $10mil which is the fee he was later paid for Dumb and Dumber 😊 Needles to say I've come to greatly appreciate and realize the power of the mind and the potential one can reach by tapping into the subconscious (which BTW - is 95% of our mind) wow!!!!!💥My minds blown💥 😊 'You are the Placebo' is one for the reading list if your scrapping for something interesting to listen to for that commute home ~ Check it out, lemme know what you think !

I've been taking care of my body well for a few months now and my mind is still trying to stave off a quarter of a centuries bad habits. I feel unmotivated and ready to take shelter from the storm. Run inside and get cozy with the "normalcy" I've been accustomed to for so long. However, I know what I really need is to drink some water, do some yoga, and sleep on it. So instead of staying dry I'm going to go out and let the cold water of new habits cleanse me of all the filth of my old habits. We are not put on this Earth to repeat the same mistakes for 75 years and call it a life. We are here to learn and experience as much of it as life will offer to us. We know what we have to do to create the lives we want. So let us all learn to cleanse ourselves in the down pour instead of trying to stay dry in our makeshift mental shelters. From the fittest point in my life to back to square one ☝️ I used to live at the weight I’m currently at, allll the time. Things may have been distributed a bit differently but regardless, it was uncomfortable. My clothes never fit right •because I refused buy bigger stuff, I had a hard time running •because I was carrying around extra weight, and I didn’t have the confidence to do what I loved •because old routines are comfortable. Getting back to my healthy, fit self is obviously a goal for 2018. Like father like daughter. My dad did not like the cold, in fact he disliked it so much he would go away to Thailand over the winter months to be warm. Well dad, I certainly understand you now. ❄️❄️❄️ It has snowed quite a lot and the last couple of days it has dropped down to -4 (-8 at night😱)...say what?!? I am not liking this cold feeling one bit especially living in a country farmhouse which is super cold ❄️ thank heavens for the aga oven! For the last two days I have stayed indoors which is incredibly unheard of for me normally as I would still have walked the dogs no matter what the weather, however these days I am learning to listen to my heart and follow my gut instinct more. My inner being was shouting to stay inside, get under blankets, drink warm tea and snuggle my daughter and dogs. And that is what I have done for two days. I am learning to not feel guilty when straying from my "duties" and routine. It is a process but one I am embarking on as I go on a deep personal and spiritual journey of healing and releasing my true core. 🌸 I highly recommend listening to your gut instinct and following your hearts desires 🌸

I'm not much of a sports fan but when you get two free box tickets to a hockey game you don't pass it up. Plus it was a Florida lightning game and they're apparently a big deal in hockey. Pit them against an Ohio team (my home state) and it makes for a great reason to take a weekend trip. So Jenny and I got a great AirBnB right on the beach in Tampa Bay. We spent a night in the city and the rest of the night listening to the waves roll in. The next day we went to St. Pete Beach and got some sun. All in all, it was a great weekend spent in the city and in the sun. Omg this is one of the most embarrassing and also proudest moments of my life and I’m both mortified and happy that it was captured on video 🤸🏻‍♀️ My teachers and classmates at YTT know how much I really fear inversions, and so what do they do? They tough love me into a transition from sirsana (headstand) into Urdhva danurasna (wheel). So I go from an inversion into a backbend. The hardest part was being totally vertical and trusting that I was going to be okay 😨😱😨 because I had amazing people like @alysony199 cueing me into proper and safe alignment. Even with all that support, my mind totally went into panic mode (exactly at the point when @letsgetloosey gently pushes in my ribs with her knee; arggh those knitting in of the ribs) but once I got into the backbend, it’s like the stormy clouds parted and the sun shone thru...and I was like, “Oh, that was it?!” 😆 It definitely was NOT as bad as I thought and obviously I survived to tell the tale of my upside down adventures. It made me realize the depth of the saying that some yoga poses can be incredibly triggering. There’s a lot of emotion and psychology that happens when we get into certain poses, but if we really want to see and experience for ourselves what we are capable of, we at least need to try. And tough love can definitely help with that! “The primary focus of this path of choosing wisely, of this training to de-escalate aggression, is learning to stay present. Pausing very briefly, frequently throughout the day, is an almost effortless way to do this. For just a few seconds we can be right here. Meditation is another way to train in learning to stay, or, as one student put it more accurately, learning to come back, to return to being present over and over again. The truth is, anyone who’s ever tried meditation learns really quickly that we are almost never fully present. I remember when I was first given meditation instruction. It sounds so simple: Just sit down, get comfortable, and bring light awareness to your breath. When your mind wanders, gently come back and stay present with your breath. I thought, “This will be easy.” Then someone hit a gong to begin and I tried it. What I found was that I wasn’t present with a single breath until they hit the gong again to end the session.
