I realized one sequence was missing from today’s training... The Single Arm KB Overhead Squat. I use 24kg’s on the video - The vid is an assessment tool I use for me but especially with my personal and online clients for not only technique check but also to visualize muscles imbalance and parasitic movements. In this case, I can see my alignment and timing has some issues on my LEFT shoulder. You’ll think « sure, it is his non-dominant side, so you can expect some technique flaws »....WRONG! I’m a LEFTY so the cause lies some place else. In my case, I have some chronic tightness in my RIGHT hip and I tweaked my LEFT shoulder a bit while practicing barbell snatches...Even though it doesn’t make me fail of limit my moves, I compensate slightly. Question: did you know that is YOUR right and your DUTY to check your coach or trainer to see if they’re legit. Let’s be honest, there are lots of shady “practitioners” out there pretending they can help you but they have nothing to authenticate their “knowledge”. Working on the fundamentals patterns with some twist with my client Chrysa. You wan see on each video that she’s very focused (a pleasure as a coach) and aim to connect as much as possible with each Movements in terms of form, timing and Activation. You can hear me giving her some cues to help her adjust the execution. The trapbar helps to keep the COG closer to the body versus the Barbell Deadlift that increased the lever on the lower bar and the hinging ag the hip. I like to use the trapbar as well as An educative for the #oly #lifting set up. 2 - Band OH Press - benefits: peak of tension on top of the move is a great #TUT (Time Under Tension) for a while body Activation. Teach the 3-ple alignment hand-shoulder-hip. Teach the front rack position (make sure to have hands wider than shoulders). Teach the control on ascending (concentric) and descending (eccentric) 3 - #trx Pike - #core #strength/Shoulder #mobility + Strength/#eccentric control on the return phase 4 - TRX Forward #plank - massive load on shoulder/shoulder stability/total body control and Activation 5 - TRX Lunge Progression: lift a box/the dumbbell/the sprinter - 3-5 reps each on each side/the TRX Lunge one of the most underrated exercise. A real challenge for stability/control/leg and glute activation/coordination. Barb had been training with me for 2.5 years and she has always been a pleasure to coach. Being a nurse, she had an hectic schedule. She always showed up and her accountability was outstanding. Hard worker, patient, smart and genuinely caring person are he words that come to mind. Here's her story Romain BARBARA HAY Kelowna, Canada My name is Barbara, and I live in Canada. I trained with Romain for 2 1/2 years doing both #privatetraining and #teamtraining at different times. I chose to work with Romain because I was impressed by his athleticism and his expertise and knowledge of #athletic training. I knew I could get results if I trained with him. I was overweight and really unhappy with my body shape and function. I wanted to change and I didn't see results in just doing it alone and on my own. Trying to do fitness classes alone without training, diet change and good coaching did not give me any results. When I started with Romain I saw a 10lb weight loss in just 2 months and I was really amazed as I had only lost 10lbs in one year of just doing fitness classes. The first 6 month investment of three times a week with Romain gave me #results and hope, so I continued to stay with him toward a greater goal of better fitness. I am still wanting to have him coach me by distance because I trust his #expertise and I know I will continue to get the results I desire if I stay connected to the program he has developed. Romain is a good #coach giving me solid direction and guidance and has been proven in my #weightloss and #fitness #per#performance. Felt like Christmas this morning. We've just received the 1st arrival of our #eleiko Hardware. 1 x Performance Training Set - 190kg time total / 1 Toaster / 1 XF Platform. We had to inlay the Wood Plate temporary into our, also, temporary Flooring because Eleiko was out of stock of impact tiles for the metal platform as they had to provide for the World #weightlifting #championship coming up. After unboxing, I'm impressed by the quality of the #craftsmanship of the #plates and the #Performance #training #barbell. #strength is im the details and Eleiko never disappoints. Even the shipping box was out of this world!
