The Destruction of Nalanda: Thousands of students, monks, professors, etc were beheaded and slaughtered in a radical islamic invasion in 1193, by Bakhtiyar Khalji and his men. It took them MONTHS to burn only books! There was millions of books. They broke most of the complex but some of it still stands today. When the Tibetan translator, Chag Lotsawa Dharmasvamin (Chag Lo-tsa-ba, 1197 - 1264), visited northern India in 1235, Nalanda was damaged, looted, and largely deserted, but still standing and functioning with over seventy students. All of the books and knowledge collected went up into flames, this was not only a loss to #India and those who lost their lives but to all of mankind.
Coriander appreciation post! 🌿
This delightful, fragrant herb is no stranger in Indian kitchens. But you know the sad part? We only use it as a garnish. At best, we toss some into our omelettes. 🍳 But this gorgeous herb deserves to be heroed in food! It chelates the blood, meaning it removes heavy metals from the system, thereby preventing resultant organ damage. ✨
What will YOU use coriander in today? 😃
