Southern Tier Brewing Co.
@glassjug#BeerAdvent Calendar No. 7
I almost picked this one up separately before the my Beer Advent Calendar made it's way home. Happy I got to try it out before investing in a bigger bottle.
Southern Tier's Cinnamon Roll pours a smooth molasses-colored pour, leaves a thing head, scant lacing, and a lightly hazy glass. The nose is slightly boozy, quick sharp alcohol scents, heavy on the cinnamon and brown sugar, a lot like the melted buttery cinnamon that goes in a cinnamon roll. The mouthfeel is medium-full, flavors being heavy on the cinnamon and spice, leading to much darker bitter and sugary flavors than what is conveyed in the scent, it's a little bitter, and is rounded out with a cinnamon sugar finish.

Style: Imperial Pumpkin Ale
Colour: Pours a clear Amber
Smell: Lots of the spices you would expect in a pumpkin ale such as nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. There’s also some earthy aromas of pumpkin, roasted nuts and toasted malt.
Taste: It starts with a nice sweetness of caramel and the toasted malt. This transitions to an earthy and spicy profile with a very similar flavor to a pumpkin pie. Overall this is a really good beer to have over the holidays, and with the 1 liter bottle, it is great and easy to share.
Brewery: Howe Sound Brewing, Squamish BC
