TRAINING TIP TUESDAY- common errors with concentration curls • Concentration curls are one of my favorites for growth. The upper arm is rested, preventing swinging or momentum. Which isolates your bicep and forces the workload on the bicep • First mistake: PREFORMING THE MOVEMENT TOO QUICKLY. Usually this involves too much momentum and takes the workload off the bicep. Use a slow and controlled motion • Second mistake: LOCKING THE ELBOWS OUT. If your elbows are locked out at the bottom, you’re giving your biceps a slight rest. Keep them under tension through the entire movement • Third mistake: USING TOO MUCH WEIGHT: it’s common to use too much weight at the expense of good form. But especially in an exercise that is meant to isolate a muscle. If you end up swinging your arm, you’re recruiting a ton of different muscles that you don’t intend to work. PULL-UPS👊🏼 . an excellent bodyweight movement that requires a lot of upper body strength, core control and range of motion . there are many different progressions to the movement as well as different grips that work slightly different areas of the back & shoulders . start with resistance band assisted pull-ups (more tension = more assistance) then work your way down to lighter bands . another great progression exercise is ECCENTRIC pull-ups ... jump or step to the top of a pull-up (see picture 👆🏼) & lower yourself down as slowly as possible - try 4-6 reps for 3 sets 👌🏼 . happy pullin’ homies 🤙🏼
