I was painting this sheet of material
and it was curling and moving and it was alive
under my brush I could feel my grief
I could feel my tiredness,
sleepless nights, unsaid things,
my parents voices, old tears
that have now dried up
and have become something else
I could feel my feet touching the ground
and the soil, the rocks,
I could hear a distant stream, water
and its way of constantly moving somewhere
I could feel the blood in my veins,
going through my legs,
and I could hear the beating of my heart
and the beating of the sky
and the air touching my body
and my body moving in the atmosphere,
recycling that air, drinking that water,
changing the course of faith
with a simple gesture,
I felt worthless and free
I felt nothing and everything
I felt like death wouldn’t be so scary,
but just a new beginning,
I felt like a flower
that changes shape and lives on the surface but its roots are actually underneath the earth,
I was crying
the warmth of the sun on the white walls
the silence of the inanimate objects that surrounded me
and then I heard it,
there were no voices in my skull
there was no whispering
I was finally alone
with some paper
and everything that lives
in a space outside my body.

Michael Leunig's #car#cartoon 'Body Parts' encapsulates the question of questions: ARE WE GOOD OR ARE WE BAD?

Biologist Jeremy Griffith explains "The agony of being unable to truthfully answer the fundamental question of why we are the way we are—divisively instead of cooperatively behaved—has been the particular burden of human life. It has been our species’ particular affliction or condition—our ‘human condition’. Good or bad, loving or hateful, angels or devils, constructive or destructive, sensitive or insensitive: WHAT ARE WE?
Throughout history we have struggled to find meaning in the awesome contradiction of our human condition. Our endeavours in philosophy, psychology and biology have failed, until now, to provide a truthful, real, psychosis-addressing-and-solving explanation.
And for their part, while religious assurances such as ‘God loves you’ may have provided temporary comfort, they too failed to explain WHY we are lovable. So, yes, WHY are we lovable? How could we be good when all the evidence seems to unequivocally indicate that we are a deeply flawed, bad, even evil species?" #michaelleunig#leunig#jeremygriffith#humancondition#humannature#humanpsychology#art#art#artistrk #art #artist #linedrawing#sketch#love#pencil#draw#cartooning#drawing #cartoon #artsy#sketching#drawdrawdraw#truth#quoteme
Going deeper into any subject is just something that has gone further ahead of mainstream mentality. Malevich abstracted minimalism down to a square. Picasso completely departed from conventional representation. And it’s going to be a matter of time before 3D renderings will stop caring about CG quality and descend down to basic Render aesthetics. Everything ends up being stripped down to its basic essence. So post internet will stop using windows 95 aesthetics and silly vapourwave vibes to focus on what it really stands for - Reality beyond human condition. #art#antonlukashov#kunst#reality#render#study#objects#humancondition#postinternetart#posthumancondition#oilpainting#painting#contemporaryart
SCARS ARE BRAUTIFUL.//💚 “Hello! My name is Thaddeus Caisse. I am a twenty-eight year old correctional officer from Chicopee Massachusetts. I was born with tetralogy of fallot. At three months old I had my first open heart surgery to repair the ventricular septal defect. At seven I had angioplasty to open up my pulmonary valve. At twenty I had my second open heart surgery to replace my pulmonary valve with a bovine prosthetic valve, as well as having a cryablasyion to eliminate my super ventricular tachycardia. I am currently taking no medication and have no restrictions, I lift weights and do cardio regularly. I do not personally know of anyone else that has heart disease except for the extensive community that has been growing on social media.
Some of the fears that I faced growing up with CHD are very common I believe for most of us. The fear of the unknown. What does this mean for my future? What can I do? What cant I do? How long do I have?. These fears quickly went away as growing up very active. I still have those lingering thoughts of “is this ok for me to do” and “how will this affect me?”. My situation with heart disease has shown me that even though I am “different” I am still extremely capable of being great. at. One of my biggest role models through my life with CHD is Olympic snow border Shawn White. White lives with the exact same condition that I do.
If anyone reads this story that is in the same shoes as me, I want them to know to fight, that it is ok to struggle, that when you run that mile and you think that youre breathing too hard or that your heart is beating extra hard.. look at that “normal” kid next to you, what do they look like? That’s right theyre struggling too.
We’re here and we’re still fighting and we’re going to keep fighting against the number one congenital defect. Keep pushing warriors, keep fighting…” @thadcaisse .
