The Salkantay Trail offers marvelous experience passing places surrounded by snow and ice (Pass, 4,600 m) until places lying 1,700 metres lower where bromeliads and orchids blossom. On the way, you can appreciate views of imposing Salkantay Mountain from immediate proximity. The trek is not much difficult. There is not either snow or ice on the path. Only problem can be the high altitude (the beginning of the trek is at 2,800 metres and the highest trekking point is at 4,600 metres) so acclimatization should not be underestimated.
Treated myself to a solo hike and found this gem! 🏃🏽♀️⛰🇮🇪 I was feeling a little blue living in Ireland and reminiscing about all the hikes I did when I lived in Colorado. This definitely helped. #irelandmyheart
